No spoilers! Love HOT, sexy books w/a plot. No vampires, paranormal, teens 4 me. I also review in exchange for books-lots of fun surprises!

Sure... not as smutty as my friends would like.
Rather predictable but chic book
I love Sandra Brown. She always adds a twist or two in her novels Envy is one of my favorites. It was two stories in one. Love, deception, hate, revenge, jealousy; it's all in there.
If you like Sandra Brown novels you must listen to this one! It's her best yet, and Victor Slezak is the perfect narrator. His drawl is great for the characters in this book.
Envy an amazingly well-crafted suspense story with a multilayer plot and perfect pacing. Sandra Brown creates a solid sense of place for every setting, whether it's a big city, a college frat house, Key West or an obscure Georgia island. The book consists of two story arcs that eventually intersect. One story arc starts with Maris, a publisher, tracking down a reclusive author. Parker Evans is the author who submits an unsolicited manuscript to her publishing house. The second arc is the book Parker is writing, titled "Envy." The intertwining of these two plots is well done, with Brown doling out the backstory contained in the manuscript in tantalizing installments. In addition to the mystery in Parker's book, there is intrigue and betrayal going on in the present day story of Parker, Maris, Maris's husband and her father. The twists and turns are wonderful and the timing is superb. Brown also manages to write a compelling romance, even with such unlikely circumstances.
Victor Slezak voices all the characters well, but he has a special knack for the southern accents of Parker and his assistant, Mike. Slezak's voice for Parker is deep, rough, and perfect. Slazek doesn't use a high voice for the female characters--no falsetto here-- but he still manages to soften his voice and differentiate between the genders with no problems. I can't think of any way to improve the narration of this book.
5 Stars - Loved it & will listen to it again 4 Stars - Really liked it & may listen to it again 3 Stars - Liked it but will not listen to it again 2 Stars - Didn't like it very much 1 Star - Hated it
Classic Sandra. A good book but not a great book. Would not listen the second time. But would recommend.
This is my first audio book in about three years and I'm totally immersed in this story. Brown's characters are interesting and the story is filled with intrigue. With every chapter a few more secrets are uncovered. I've got about three hours to go and I'm enthralled.
Slezak is a super narrator and I'm really enjoying his southern accents. I'll definitely listen to more from him.
You can't go wrong with this book. I'm online now already looking for another story by Brown.
I found this book incredibly entertaining. After reading it I downloaded a bunch of Sandra Brown books, although this one is my favorite so far. Loved the twists and turns in this book and the hot love affair.
Normally I don't like a male reader performing a woman's role but once I gave it a chance with this narrator I found I forgot all about my previous aversions.
The twist and turns in this story will keep you riveted.
This was a fun book to listen to.
It's up there with my top 5 Audio books.
Most definitely ... could hardly stop listening! Which plot? Great story, very well-defined characters.. haven't read too many S. Brown novels since I don't like too much romance and sex, and this one had much too much detailed sex, other than that, this was great!
PME, of course!
Great narrator - again, the narrator rates 5 in my book. The only negative comment I have-- too, too much sex. Could have done without all that and book would still be great .. even better.
Although it has a bunch of crude situations and words I couldn't stop listening. I liked it so much I had my husband listen to it too. It had a bit of a surprise at the ending which I didn't see coming.
Author Sandra Brown is an excellent, excellent writer! This is about the lives of two young authors who are friends and college buddys and thier difficult struggles becoming writers. The story is very captivating, entriguing and most certainly a thriller. I enjoyed the excellent job the reader Victor Slezak did. This is a book for adults since there is some very descriptive sexual scenes. I recommend this to readers who would like a change from the same ol' "who done it" style writing.
