Classic Sandra. A good book but not a great book. Would not listen the second time. But would recommend.
This is my first audio book in about three years and I'm totally immersed in this story. Brown's characters are interesting and the story is filled with intrigue. With every chapter a few more secrets are uncovered. I've got about three hours to go and I'm enthralled.
Slezak is a super narrator and I'm really enjoying his southern accents. I'll definitely listen to more from him.
You can't go wrong with this book. I'm online now already looking for another story by Brown.
I only gave this one star so I could write a review, otherwise it would not let me write anything. Was so disappointed! Wish audio books could have ratings like movies, the language in this made me sick, totally wasted credit. From what I did listen the book may have been good if not for the foul language.
Hopefully something that is not constantly bombarding me with filth. Cannot listen to anyone use my Lord's name in vain.
Yes, if I can find one that he reads without so much filth.
no, not really
Why does any author think you have to use that kind of language to make their books sell?
I found this book incredibly entertaining. After reading it I downloaded a bunch of Sandra Brown books, although this one is my favorite so far. Loved the twists and turns in this book and the hot love affair.
Normally I don't like a male reader performing a woman's role but once I gave it a chance with this narrator I found I forgot all about my previous aversions.
The twist and turns in this story will keep you riveted.
This was a fun book to listen to.
It's up there with my top 5 Audio books.
Most definitely ... could hardly stop listening! Which plot? Great story, very well-defined characters.. haven't read too many S. Brown novels since I don't like too much romance and sex, and this one had much too much detailed sex, other than that, this was great!
PME, of course!
Great narrator - again, the narrator rates 5 in my book. The only negative comment I have-- too, too much sex. Could have done without all that and book would still be great .. even better.
Although it has a bunch of crude situations and words I couldn't stop listening. I liked it so much I had my husband listen to it too. It had a bit of a surprise at the ending which I didn't see coming.
Author Sandra Brown is an excellent, excellent writer! This is about the lives of two young authors who are friends and college buddys and thier difficult struggles becoming writers. The story is very captivating, entriguing and most certainly a thriller. I enjoyed the excellent job the reader Victor Slezak did. This is a book for adults since there is some very descriptive sexual scenes. I recommend this to readers who would like a change from the same ol' "who done it" style writing.
I finished listening to this book because I bought it and the reviews were positive. But the language is unbearable stale, e.g. she softly/huskily/gently answered, he felt rage/passion/revenge rise in his throat. Also the plot is completely obvious frm the the beginning. A waste of a credit.
Definitely. The plot is full of suspense and very well written.
His narration enhances the thrill and suspense involving the story.
This book ranks very high with me and I am pretty picky.
Lethal was another over the top GREAT. They both kept me at the edge of my seat.
He is very good at bringing characters to life
Thrilling and exciting!
I wish there were more books that are up to the standards of Envy and Lethal. I haven't read all of Sandra Browns books, but these two rate pretty high in my mind.
