The narrator's voice for Parker, the main character, was very good. The rest of the time he was quite monotonous and couldn't do a woman's voice at all. The plot was full of inconsistencies and became increasingly unbelievable as the book continued. It was a good enough page-turner, but not a great listen overall.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, which I hate to admit, is my first Sandra Brown book. Incredible plot with many twists and turns; believable characters; and I enjoyed Victor Slezak so much that the next audible book by Brown ("Rainwater")I downloaded and am presently listening to had to be narrated by Slezak. He is excellent. This is a must read.
I listen to Audible books while commuting, doing housework, exercising and gardening.
The story line was very good- a book within a book, and interesting plot twists. But the dialog was so stilted and artificial, especially in the main "book". Part of the blame I attribute to the narrator, as his word emphasis contributed to the "just off" feeling.
I loved this book. I have not read a Sandra Brown yet that I didn't like but Envy is one of her best. I loved the characters and simply could not stop listening to it. Highly recommend this one!
this is the 2nd book of Sandra's that I've read and I've just purchased another because I can't get enough of her stories. I've been an insatiable reader all my life and these days the books that really consume me get harder to come by, however envy and chill factor have both done that. Keep writing Sandra.
This is a fantastic book! Sandra Brown never ceases to amaze me with her writing talent. The weaving together of two stories in this book was wonderfully entertaining. Hated to see it end!
