reader & writer
What I like the most about the work of Kabat-Zinn is the lack of mysticism, and the down-to-earth practical guidance he gives us throughout his writing.
I use this book as a reminder and source in my own everyday mindfulness praxis, it is informative and full of well tempered humor.
The only negative side to this production is that there are to few chapters in the audible version of the text.
I love to listen to to everything from self-help books to Clive Cussler.
I had a very hard time getting interested in the book because the narrator/author was monotone. He needs to stick to writing and let someone else do the talking.
Sums up mindfulness and meditation in a simple and factual manner. Very effective text.
Mediation with mountains and lakes metaphors.
For those new to exploring mindfulness and meditation this audio delivers an excellent foundation that can be with you as you begin your journey. For everyone no matter your experience, the audio is a wonderful partner to your practice and expands understanding. A warm, guiding, joyful and practical audio book to listen to many times.
I do not live in HOng Kong
the Audible version of this book is blighted by the horrendously loud new age music that accompanies Jon's narration. i am a big fan of his work but this is unlistenable. it's so loud in parts that you cannot hear what he is saying, and is completely distracting from something that is largely about being focussed. it's a bizarre concept and an absolute disaster. i'm going to get my money back and buy the kindle version instead.
i have rated the "story" as 1 because i cannot hear it
I love searching for different ways how to do art. Books though are my joy....in any shape or form.
Jon Kabat Zinn speaks in a calming voice on matters about getting through the day in a more restful way. I'm really enjoying his audio cd while Im going through a particularly challenging time and getting through it.
