I would not accept Ms. Coulter's research as accurate until you've had a chance to listen to Al Franken's latest book "Liars, and the Lying Liars that Tell Them". You'll see that her so-called endnotes have been researched separately and are nothing more than texts taken out of context. Anyone can spin Lexus-Nexus searches to mean anything they want. Did just a little deeper, and you will see the house of cards that make up her stance.
Seriously, I loved this book. Ann Coulter lifts up the rock that Leftist lies and hypocrisy hide under and the little bugs go scurrying. She points out the incredulous things the Left feed to us that most people don't take the time to really think about. She blows away the left's emotional caterwauling with cold, hard facts and keen insight. And, to top it all off, she has a great sense of humor. If you have the guts to listen to this book, YOU WILL LEARN SOMETHING!
I thought that this author was supposed to be one of the best conservative writers, but she is really unChristian and full of hate. She does not support any conservative ideas that I can see. She only only tries to build herself up by putting others down in vile and disgusting ways
Ann Coulter delivers a hot rendition of right wing rhetoric in Slander. While certainly not a deep discussion of the media, she does provide an outrageously charged version of right wing paranoia. This will be an extremely entertaining listen for those disposed to see a media conspiracy in every story or see liberals as putting their agenda above every immoral act possible. Anne certainly does not give a balanced view of right wing / left wing smearing, but that was very much to be expected.
I was wary of this book - I consider myself a moderate (most definitely socially, if not economically) and listened to Al Franken's 'Lies' just prior to this. Franken spends half the book accusing Coulter of being both a liar and a lunatic. Thankfully I decided to give this book a chance.
Al Franken is perhaps a BIT (although not much) funnier than Ann but Slander is a MUCH better book. And unlike Franken's, this book does NOT stoop to the level of personal attacks and unjustified invective.
It's not surprising the hard-core liberals choose to slam this book. But if you've got an even slightly open mind, I suggest you give it a chance and take a listen. Like me, you may find yourself (very) pleasantly surprised.
Put plain and simple, Ms. Coulter's expose' of the heavily left wing biased media smacks of the truth...right where it hurts...in the written and now spoken word.
I can finally put away my sleeping pills...This book was nearly impossible to get through. I kept waiting for her to make a quantifiable claim about all of these supposed "liberal lies." Instead she spends all of her time calling people names, specifically liberals... She really does her cause a disservice by getting published. Don't waste your money and moreso your time listening to this book.
In her book, Ann Coulter confirms everything that most conservatives are afraid of. If you're a liberal and you claim that this book is biased after reading it, you really are an idiot. Ann Coulter very rarely cites an opinion. It's fact after fact after fact, all proving how ridiculously slanted the media really is, and how they hide from that fact with the kindergarten favorite, "I know you are but what am I?"
Strong Liberals: don't bother. Just point, laugh, & keep being an idiot.
Conservatives & questioning Liberals: You need to read this book and start paying attention to the country. I'm looking at things a lot more closely now. I'm also reading 'Treason' right now.
Well written--and just as well read by the author. Ann sees things and describes them in a way that is both funny and insightful. It's amazing how many of her insights are so apt. It's like she has outlined liberal talking points--which are still being used on a daily basis. If you're on the right, you will want to see those talking points skewered. If you're on the left, you will want to understand their vulnerabilities. And all is done in a way that's very entertaining. You might find yourself laughing out loud a lot at her wit. This audiobook won't put you to sleep.
There is not only something definitely wrong with Ann Coulter, there must be something wrong with the tens of thousands of rabid right-wingers who swallow this tripe. Save your money and time and spend it on a more balanced treatment of the American political scene.
