I'm new to the Star Wars canon outside the movies. I completed the Thrawn Trilogy and really enjoyed it. I jumped to this book because I wanted another book read by Marc Thompson. 'Betrayal' was very hard for me to get into, and a bit confusing. At times I was anxious for it to end. Perhaps it was hard to follow because this is the abridged version. Even Thompson's reading seemed rushed at times, and his Han Solo was less polished than the Thrawn Trilogy. It picked up a lot of steam toward the end, but that was after several hours invested. I'm glad I finished it, but hoping the next books grab me more than this one did.
The title states my largest complaint. The book feels like dispatches in its brevity and abrupt scene changes. It's already a short book and there is no reason to trim 10 hrs to 6.
I loved it! great start to a book series! A friend of mine suggested I start this series because of how amazing it is and I wasn't disappointed. Can't wait to read the next one!
I started reading the book and ran out of time to finish due to work. I got the story, but wished it was unabridged. The story was still good.
I felt like the whole book was hinting that Jacen would turn and then when he did, it seemed way too out of character and too easy for him to turn.
