"My favorite SEP book"
Yes - Anna Fields' narration is so spectacular, and she gives the great characters even more life than Phillips!
The perpetual sarcastic back-and-forth between Blue and Dean; even though I've listened to this book numerous times, I still giggle when I listen to the two of them spar. And, of course, the opening scene in this book is one of my favorite opening scenes in any book I've ever read!
Tough choice: either Dean, Blue, or minor character Nita Garrison.
Absolutely!
This is seriously my favorite romance book ever written. A close second is SEP's
"Loved.....however"
As usual, I really enjoyed the author's very effective combination of humor and romance in just the right doses. However, I'm dismayed that her formula is becoming had. This book is so much like her book Heaven, Texas. Though, I liked this one a bit more. So I would choose this read over Heaven, Texas but save my money and not get both.
"Excellent!"
I listen to audiobooks at night to help me sleep. This book had parts that were so funny, I ended up keeping my hubby up with my snorts of laughter. The reader was fabulous. She is greatly missed!
"funny and spellbinding"
Another great story by a talented author - and read perfectly! I usually prefer to read silently a book by an author I love. Readings don't allow the same suspension of disbelief and make it harder for me to 'lose myself' in the story. This reader however was so good that I forgot it was being read aloud and got totally involved in the book. I will look for books read by this reader!
"Hilarious!!!"
This story is hilarious - so funny that it will have you rolling on the floor and crying. Anna Fields is one to the best narrators that Audible uses.

"You'll love this one!"
Once again a fabulous book by SEP narrated by Anna Fields. Story is great, a little much at the end but I enjoyed it. The banter between Blue and Dean is so funny you will laugh out loud (a lot!) Highly recommend.
"Great author and narrator"
I love Susan Elizabeth Phillips -- I got hooked on her early books on tape and this book continues her smart, funny approach -- great light listening. I also love listening to Anna Fields -- she captures the characters and the humor of Phillips. I will so miss her voice in the future after her tragic death last year.
Hard core Audble listener, been listening to recorded books since they were on casset tape...
"Vintage SEP"
I have enjoyed past Susan Elizabeth Phillips book and always love Anna Fields narration. This book was just very predictable. Very light read with no surprises.
"Love the book!"
This was my first listen on Audible and it was just so wonderful. I loved it, I listened to it more than once because it always warms my heart.
"Best opening pages of a romance I've seen!"
I would listen to Natural Born Charmer again in the future. The characters were so real and made me laugh.
One thing that I like about SEP's novels is that she makes the location/setting almost an additional character in her books. She does a great job of setting a scene (and making you want to visit).
I just loved the opening scene. It grabbed my interest immediately and was so different from any other opener I've read (and absolutely hilarious!). But once all the characters were introduced, I was very much surprised how much depth the story and all the character had. I was expecting more of a light romp and the book is so much more than that.
This is the first Susan Elizabeth Phillips novel I've read, and I jumped right in and listened to four more right away. All her stories are have similar plot points (for instance, always an additional romance with the supporting characters) but each story is fresh enough that it works well. The narrator is excellent. As always, it's his or her ability to voice the opposite sex that makes or breaks a book and Anna Fields does a superb job.
