Pleasure Seekers isn't what the title would suggest. Although some may not find the storyline to their liking. Personally, I found it to be an enjoyable and interesting scenario where old and new friends taken out of their elements to take a chance for different reasons and later finding some of life's happiness. Another happily everafter story by Rochelle. Over the years I've enjoyed every book Rochelle Alers has written and find no exception with Pleasure Seekers.
I was intriqued by the summary of Pleasure Seekers, skeptic as I started to listen to the first 20 minutes, but engaged and 'involved' with the characters shortly after. I'm anxiously awaiting Ms. Alers's next book on audio.
Audio books help me get through the workday.
I downloaded this audio and I'm trying to get into the story but the Narrator's voice is so flat and robotic like, it's hard to pay attention. I'll be back with more if and when I finally finish this audio.
I enjoyed this book for the most part but there were some moments when it just went on and on with details that really didn't make the book any better. The story was not very exciting but I found it interesting to learn about each characters. Has a good ending but this book is not on my list of favorites.
This book was not what I thought it would be. The reader who sounded country and not African American was the first mistake that was made. I almost stopped listening when I heard her voice because she is not believable as a black female. She mispronounces words and is not ghetto enough in my opinion. The book did not have enough romance and hardcore sex. If she didnt want to write about the sex then this book shouldnt be in the erotica section of the downloads. This book did not hold my interest as many other books I have listened to recently. I did not feel a connection to the characters and did not see them as real people. I will probably not buy anything further from this author. I will definitely never listen to another book read by this narrator. My money was wasted on this novel.
I was disappointed to read one of the scathing reviews of Gabra's narration. I totally disagree, she did a wonderful job and was true to the characters. I fell completely in love with Faye and Bart, their story was quite lovely, but I enjoyed all four women's distinct stories. In fact, I've listened to the book twice already and most likely will listen again. I recommend this book highly and will look out for more books by Rochelle Alers in the future.
Silly premise, predictable ending. OK for something light weight to help you sleep.
This book is FANTASTIC! I have listened to it four more times! Keeps your attention, its one of those that you want to skip ahead to find out if everything will be okay. Loved it!!!
