I may not be a sista- but I have always been a plus size girl that didn't let that stop me from glamming myself up with cute clothes, makeup and hair...and hot men. I was still able to relate to this book in every other way. If you are easily offended by profanity or open (I mean REALLY open) talk about sex, then this is not the book for you. But I think and talk as much about sex as your average man, so I was pleasently surprised to find that this author doesn't hold ANYTHING back....drama and twists to the story mixed with passionate love making and back stabbing....but true sincerity from believable, relatable characters kept me wanting more and more....the narrators were halarious and entertaining, just like actors in a movie!
All I can say is gross!!! I couldn't get pass the first 3 chapters... 1st I just couldnt get into it when the characters are gapped toothed and all they kept taking about is how big they are and weigh over 200 lbs and I really don't need to know how good it feels to pee. Gross!! And you would think they would know how to speak instead of all this ebonics bull $**t. They need to have this in a chubby lovers porno fetish section. I wish I could have my credit back!!! :(
To say that the characters in this book are one dimensional would be an overstatement. Each character has less than a half of a dimension. If they are not talking about sex, they are having or thinking about it. The characters are super obsessed with sex...and most of them equate sex and commitment, or the lack thereof, with love. I'm far from being a prude, but this book left me speechless--and not in a good way. I could not imagine an entire group of friends and/or family members who govern their entire lives based on their sexual appetites—all decisions are libido driven. Each character is rendered helpless, when aroused. Give me a break! If the characters are not talking about sex, they are having or thinking about it. This book is worthy of a place on the shelf of some XXX book store. It is obvious that it was written from a male's perspective and fantasies, because the female characterizations are just not real...Don’t waste your time; if porn is your thing, rent a video…
I love chick lit and have reviewed almost every book I read hi but this is the trashiest books I have read. I don't mind a sex scene or two but this was just WAY too much for me. BEWARE!
Aside from the low quality recording, this book is so bad I couldn't get past the 5th chapter. I kept waiting for it to get better but instead heard several women characters obviously written by a man. It turned into a smut book about nothing.
I only listened to aboaut 30 minutes of this and it was full of filth....not the sort of trash I want coming into my ears. I wish I could delete it from my list and get something else. What a waste of my money. I should have read the reviews. Pure filth!
I almost never take the time to write reviews but I just could'nt keep quiet on this wonderful listen!!! Did I tell you I love this audiobook!!!!! Please don't delay....it's soooo worth the credit!!!! This is my very first book by Carl Weber but I am praising him to all who will listen!!!! I had a love/hate relationship with all the character's in this book. This book has so many twists and turns that you won't be able to predict the outcome!
Last but not least the four narrator's were FABULOUS!!!! Did I tell you how much I love this book? Oh go ahead and spend the credit you won't be disappointed I promise you! :)
This book was slow in some parts, great in others... When you get to a juicy or rather good part it switches over to another character I didnt like that one bit..My favorite character was Cocoa..........I wanted a "bad boy" in the mix to spice things abit in that regard. In the end an average okay read. Nothing to go omg over.
I'm one of these people who will read a book by an author and if it is good, I'll try again. By the third great book, believe it or not, I sometimes buy sight unseen. This wasone of those purchases. I loved the drama, the sex and the book club. Wish I could join that book club. I read the second part to this book and won't elaborate but I will say this. If you liked this one, the second won't disappoint.
