Another great Koontz story with that just flies by. Great story development and the Koontz classic "innocent yet determined" central character. You will love it if you are an Odd Thomas fan.
Great story! Just when you think you're following the plot it twists and turns and keeps you on your toes. Couldn't put it down. (Which with audio means spending a lot more time in the driveway when I get home from work!)
Really enjoying Koontz' books, this is one of my favorites.
While this book makes a good listen I would not buy it again. First of all, this production would have been better served with a different voice talent. I found the voice spectrum too narrow to be dealing with so many charaters - and quite frankly annoyingly soft.
While the story has a surprising twist, the authors (oftentimes) prosaic detailing of the scenes is a bit distracting and does not add to the tension (there is only so many times one needs a detailed explanation of the Santa Ana winds).
The ending was a huge letdown, standard fare of "knight in shining armor" rescue.
Wow, should have had more faith in the other reviewers. What a waste of time. I thoroughly enjoyed two of the "Odd" books, I hope this author isn't a "one trick pony". Buy something else, even watch the road while your driving other than waste your time.
The story was good, a little overboard with some descriptions of plants, trees, etc. The narrator was slow, paused in places not appropiate. The story line was also "wordy". This was my first Koontz and I was not impressed.
Poorly written and poorly narrated. Koontz writes likes he's using a Thesaurus to replace words -- unnecessarily. It would read better if he wasn't trying to impress us with his vocabulary. It would read better if his characters weren't so implausible. It would be hard for any narrator to read this naturally.
I like listening to books because I can escape in my mind easily if it is read well ... I enjoyed this book and it was read well it was like I was watching it in my head ...
This was a wonderful book. If you like Koontz style this one is absolutely supurb. I liked it alot, and have read more than half of his books.
I love books and animals.I enjoy all sorts of genres, anything from history to supernatural.
Again Koontz writes a great book with an interesting plot, a situation that you can envision yourself in.
The characters were believable and the pace was well maintained throughout the book.
I didn't give it 5 stars because I thought the narrator could have done a better job with some of the passages and voice he portrayed for some of the characters.
