I laughed out loud many times and received many stares from strangers when listening to Chelsea's book out in public. I think the book works so much better when the author can read the book. This is so true for this book. I would recommend for a good laugh.
But..... If you do. YOU WILL LOVE THIS BOOK!! It gives some hilarious insight into her life.
I am someone who actually seeks out raunchy humor. I enjoy erotic novels even. But this was painful to listen to! It's NOT funny. Chelsea Handler basically sets out to act like a man-whore and succeeds. Spoiler alert! She sleeps with a lot of random men. Then she complains about their skills and their endowments. But her jokes have all been done before by other comics. If it had been written better, it might have been worth reading. All in all, it came off as a tired, overdone, boring read. It takes a really rare talent to make sex boring. Don't waste your money!
A single funny or slightly sexy story.
It was rote, unemotional, and almost as dry as the contents of the book itself.
From the other comments I expected something funny, erotic and well written. This book contains none of the above... or any other positive traits for that matter. At least I got it on the $4.95 sale. If you love really bad reality TV, you may enjoy this. If you are looking for erotic stories of an adventurous and humorous lady, look elsewhere. She doesn't come across as white trash exactly but she just iterates over the worst of her life without bringing in any redeeming aspects. The book is a downhill read without ever coming up for air. It's not like a bad movie that's fun to watch because of how bad it is. Rather it becomes increasingly sad, embarrassing, and depressing straight through to the end, at which point her dad tells her she needs to write a book. Sadly, she took his advise.
I thought this book was funny, well-narrated, and entertaining.
The drug usage was concerning, and I kept hoping that some young girl (who might be reading and enjoying the story) would not feel that using drugs makes ones life "exciting" or more "entertaining."
I just loved so many scenes. The lying scenes just cracked me up.
A great entertainment book. Omit the drugs and it would have had a higher rating for me.
Of Course!! super funny! nice ab workout from the laughs
Her dad Melvin!
Highly Recommended if you want a good laugh I love all her books!!
The book is hilarious. The writing is just damn good.
HOWEVER, THE NARRATOR IS SO BAD IT MAKES ME WANT TO (insert something awful that would probably get your review pulled from audible). Seriously, I get a physical reaction to how much I hate this narrator's voice. It's so so so so so far from the vibe Chelsea's narration has - and it's so so so so far from the vibe of the actual book. She sounds like a snobby B word who I'd pay any amount of money to avoid having to spend 5 minutes with.
Much better than her other book Hi Vodka It's Me Chelsea (which I returned), I loved this book!
The dirty underpants story! Oh my goodness, funny!
First time. I prefer listening to the author of the books but I feel this was properly executed.
No crying, but definitely has the 'oh my, I have to share this' parts which I love
Chelsea is a female version of Tucker Maxx...both I consider a favorite.
The stories had the potential to be very funny but the narrator does not have Chelsea's personality or ability to deliver a joke or tell the story in the way Chelsea would have. It really detracted from the impact.
Chelsea make a huge mistake by not narrating this herself. There was no way someone else was going to present it as well as she could have.
No one but Chelsea could pull this off and make it very funny. The narrator failed miserably.
