Focuses on Immaculee's internal struggle during an atrocious civil war. A great story even though it is very sad the horrible things people can inflict on one another.
"Inspring" in no way does this book justice, but it is inspiring. It is also horrifically tragic--but lest that scare the timid-hearted off--rest assured that the horror and tragedy are presented in extremely non-graphic and bitter-LESS form. Much more could be said, but I'll quit at that.

This book so touched my life. Don't miss this one folks. You will be challenged to wake up and be conscience, then determined to stomp out discrimination and hate like never before. I fell in love with Ilibagiza by the end of the story and thank the Lord she had the courage to go back and relive her horror and loss to help and educate the world against the tragedy of hate, war, prejudice and genocide.
Immaculee's story is a amazing as her circumstances were bazaar. This is a powerful story of the unlimited possibilities for forgiveness that the human spirit can obtain when that spirit relies on the Christ of love and forgiveness. Immaculee demonstrates what every believer should understand--that God can do a work in any heart, in any place, but the heart that is surrendered through will or circumstance is the heart from which love flows. If this forgiveness had only been in the heart of the enemy....
This is a moving account of a young woman's faith and personal testimony how she survived the genocide against the Tutsis in Rwanda. At times IO felt as though I was in the bathroom with her hiding. The naration is excellent.
If only we all could handle adversity so well. Her ability to forgive is an example to be held up to all of us. Although this is a story about a very tragic event, I felt hope and love for God throughout. Well done!
