My daughter had given me the book a few years back but I had never stopped to read it. Listening to the book let me know the story without me having to sit and allowed me to keep working.
This book was a wonderful story. It caught me by surprise. I love that it showed the ugly grittiness of life away from Christ, but that His redeeming love is there for each and everyone of us. Paul is like so many of us in that he blamed her for his own sin & hated her for it. God loves us unconditionally & helps us even before we are willing to turn to Him. I thoroughly enjoyed this book & will look for more by Francine Rivers!
This was my first time reading a book by this author and I'm forever a fan! The way the author lifted the character Angel was so profound and needed. There are lot of Angels in this world who need to know God. I really enjoyed this book.
This story was difficult to listen to at times because characters kept falling back to old thoughts and it was taking so long to resolve. It reminds me now of how we also keep falling back into the old ruts and how the Lord, in His own time, brings us back - never leaving or forsaking us.
This is not just a good read. It's a heartbreaking and ultimately triumphant journey, that as a reader or listener, if you do the audio book, that you find you've hitched a ride, as an uncertain and sometimes reluctant companion, with the main character. Sarah's journey will touch you deep within leaving you ... a better person.
A beautiful demonstration of God's unending love for his bride. This book has painted a picture of how God's heart aches when we fail to trust him and run after temporary worldly things.
This is my favorite novel and I don't say that lightly. I LOVE reading and read Everything; all genres and types. This is the first Christian book that I didn't need a degree in Christianese to be able to relate to or understand it. The story is relevant and convincing and convicting. Literally every person I've ever recommended or given this book to has loved it. I've never written a review before, but for my favorite book I will. I don't want to describe the story, you have to read it to see for yourself, but I will say that I have read this book over and over again, through different ages and phases in my life and have never become bored by it or over it and have taken away different and new things Every time. As an audiobook the reader was engaging and effective. The story flowed evenly and I was able to enjoy hearing the story while getting work done, I Love audiobooks! I also enjoyed the interview with Francine Rivers. This purchase was everything I needed and wanted it to be and we'll worth the cost. Highly recommend :)
