Easily one of the best audiobooks/books I have listed to/read. This review to me is more about the story but the narrator does a good job too.
This is definitely one of those books that will stick with you. Such a great story and the real and harsh depiction of what being a true christian is, you just don't see that in many books. This would be a great read for someone who does not have any distinct religious beliefs too though. A great love story about patience and forgiveness. I listened to all 17 hours in less than 3 days. Couldn't stop!
Probably Michael Hosea for obvious reasons. Who wouldn't love a man like that??
The scene that really kept me on the edge of my seat is towards the end when she runs in to her old enemy (do not want to give any spoilers).
I wouldn't rename it.
Again, a really great read. Turns out I was late to the game because when I mentioned this book to several people, they had all read it years ago and loved it. The fact that so many people can remember it so long after reading it is a good sign too...
This is still one of my favorite books after reading and listening to so many. I wasn't too terribly impressed with this narrator because she didn't change voices between characters very well, but it is still worth listening to!
To understand God's love for us... His faithfulness. This book is a gift. I ready it when I needed it several years ago & I've just listened to it and it's touchy heart deeply again. I love this book.
This is by far my favorite book. There is just so much to relate to. The forgiveness from God, the crudity of people, the compassion and deep love a man has for his wife..etc. I've read this many times and this was my first time hearing it and it made it all the more real. The reader was great. She put feeling in her words. A book that can change your life and the way you look at others. It's also an easy read. You won't want to put it down. It will become your favorite as well. The interview at the end was great.
My husband & I listened to this wonderful book which so descriptively shows us our Lord's amazing, fathomless love. I had read the book before & I loved it all over again as we listened to it over two lengthy journeys. May God continue to bless the mind & hands of Francine Rivers. We also enjoyed the interview at the end of the audio book. The reader was excellent. One of the memorable moments was whenever Michael obeyed God, like Hosea, following His will, not his own, even against all natural inclinations & what people may say. This so made me look at how I've been so disappointing to my Lord over & over again, yet He never gives up on me. Praise the Lord!!! Thank you,
Sam & Manuela Shannon
I have both. With the audio, I can keep doing other things while listening. With the written more sinks in at times because you are reading the actual words.
This story brings alive the characters you feel for them. It is a story you feel saddened, by there not being more to read, once you are done reading.
One of the best books I've ever read the only disappointing thing is when it came to an end. It's such a beautiful analogy of Christ's love for each and everyone of us. Really made me look at life in a different way.
