This is my son's first audiobook experience, but he was hooked from the beginning! His friends were all talking about the book, but he was intimidated by the length. We made a deal that he had to follow along in the book and he has LOVED it! I read the book, but plan to listen to it again:)
The characters were very likeable and the story line was, unfortunately, plausible. What terrible beasts humans can be!
This book was Great! I loved the characters and i can't wait to read the next book catching fire! It was so entertaining. Really makes you feel for all the characters in the story
Muisc is Life
The Narrator is AMAZING. I loved this book. I've already listened to the series twice!
I haven't found a comparison. Each book in the series was stand alone good. I've never had a series captivate me like this one did.
No - this was my first. I will definately look up her others.
YES - I listened to the entire series within a week!
LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!!
That is had a little bit of everything. It had drama, action & adventure, romance, and even a little dash of horror.
I loved the voice she made for Effie!!! It was exactly how I would have pictured myself.
It moved me when Katniss sang to Rue as she was dying. I couldn't help but cry during that part.
I am obsessed with the Hunger games series. I can't stop listening to it. I can't wait for the movie. I am inlove with the characters. This is the best book I have ever purchased on here. If you love action, romance and drama you will be inlove with the books. It is somewhat similar to the "Twilight Series" however it's more realistic of what could happen to the world in the future. Definitely worth every penny/credit.
This was a great book, I loved it. The story kept me involed and I love Kat myself now
The cave chapter, love story
I had so many, I do not know which one to pick from
The book is great and now I can not wait for the movie
I plan to hand this book to my 10 year old step daughter. She will love this story.
My only regret about this book is that it didn't exist when I was a young adult.
The story is well developed. The heroine, Katniss, is the girl I often heard in my head while I was growing up and making decisions during tough times.
The setting is reminisce of Huxley's Brave New World. The games are the Olympics meet the Holocaust. I mean that. My caution to parents in around the violence. Is your child mature enough to watch Schindler's List? If so, it's probably safe to let them read this book.
I can't wait until my whole family gets the chance to read this so we can discuss it around the kitchen table!
My favorite character is Katniss.
I have, but I now identify her as the voice of Katniss.
Many parts in this book made me think. I felt compassion and empathy for the young people forced to kill one another by the government. I drew parallels to the society I already live in and these themes.
Great series, fast reads, can't put them down!
The part about the berries
Did not like her voice -- she sounds too old and hard.
I am looking forward to listening to the sequel.
AMAZING, thrilling, unexpected
The story never stops. It was fast paced and honest to human behavior. I loved every second.
Great narrator. I was able to get lost in the story
The excitement. I could hardly stop listening to it.
One of the best I've listen to
