I absolutely LOVE this series!! I've listened to them all, and I'm devastated that there aren't any more. So thoroughly enjoyable and funny. Start with the first and enjoy your way through the rest. You won't be sorry.
Post apocalyptic listener with some thrillers mixed in. Follow me on twitter at @drewsant
Another great book in the Ceepak series. The author does a great job of building the story and setting the stage making you feel as if you're right there on the boardwalk with them. As before, you're kept guessing on who the killer is, and with his dry humor and story telling makes for a fun ride.
The narration by Mr Woodman is great, it really brings the characters to life!
My favorite authors: Tess Gerritsen, Anne Perry, Deborah Crombie, & Lisa Scottoline. Also, MC Beaton/Marion Chesney writes hilarious fluff.
I enjoy the John Ceepak series very much, but after listening to three of them, I'm starting to worry that the "mystery" or "whodunnit" part of the stories will continue to be extremely predictable. Of the three I've listened to, Mad Mouse was probably the easiest one to figure out. The author gives way too many clues.
I very much enjoy the characters of Boyle and Ceepak, so I keep listening, but knowing the culprit from the beginning of each story is getting really old. Does anyone else have this experience?
Like the first in the series, this is good, lightweight fun with a lot of humour and a little crime on the Jersey Shore. There's more character development in it, which makes me look forward to future installments, but it's still a fun, easy "read" that kept me entertained. It's not great literature, but it is good fun, and the narration was terrific.
This is great series. Quick, smart and very entertaining! Highly recommended if Agatha Christie is a little too HIGH BROW for you.
No. I don't listen to any books twice. There are to many I haven't heard to want to hear one twice.
Ceepak is by far my favorite character. Ceepak is the kind of cop I like. He is what you would want all cops to be like. The narrator really does a good job with him as he sounds I would imagine him to sound. In the end I just like his style.
I listened to the first and the series and found this one to be just as good. It was a good story with believable characters and I enjoyed it just as much as the first one.
Yes but I did not.
If you want a fast paced, interesting, funny cop mystery than give this series a try.
Narration was amazing as always. I love the different voices, Jeff Woodman makes you want to keep listening. This story wasn't as good as the first, wasn't as suspenseful or exciting. I found myself having to rewind because it didn't hold my attention. I will continue on with the series though. I love Danny and Ceepak and the narration alone is worth the listen.
I have a rather eclectic love of books. I know what I like and I tend not to be a severe critic. If I enjoyed it, it gets 4 or 5 stars.
I really enjoyed it - I thought this one was different because it seemed the mystery was solved so early in the book but....of course, another twist! Graberstein never fails to entertain me and Woodman is a great reader!!!! Bought the next book in the series a few minutes ago!
I love audio and ebooks but only give them a 5 if they hold my attention. An avereage story gets a 3 . Thrillers & Crime are my favorites.
This is the second book in the John Cepak series; they are just fun to listen too. I like thrillers and crime novels; this series is in the crime genre but its very light and more on the amusing side than a lot of dark grisly series.
The main character is technically John Cepak but everything is told from the very amusing viewpoint of his young police partner Danny Boyle.
This story did not disappoint and kept the sprit of the series going. This time Danny and his friends are the target of someone from his past.
Sadly the reason the person was after them resonates all too well with what so many young people face. It was done well in this story and you can truly understand why the perpetrator felt the way he did.
I Shoulda Readit
All the authors books are very similar
Anyone, although if he would develop a different voice and tone for Cepak he wouldn't be so bad. Cepak sounds robotic and Danny sounds like a woosh.
