While a novice student and practitioner of Buddhism, I am a huge fan of Pema Chodron. I found her commentary on this classic Buddhist text outstanding and accessible. I also read and re-read (I imagine I will read many more times in the future) her book "No Time to Lose" in which the audio is based.
I like the very down to earth way pema uses in her lectures and how she relates them. She brings across the issues as very real and common
That people will always have issues and criticism but the power is to learn to perceive it differently and learn from it and grow from it. People that are difficult are our teachers
Your mind creates the world
It is my first audio book from pema... and i'm addicted now. Coming from asia, buddhism is usually taught in chinese and is hard to obtain teachings in english.
Yes I would listen to it again, and will. It is packed with so much helpful information and is helping in my path to mindfulness & spriritual discovery.
I love the way it is presented in such an accessible way. Ani Pema's humor and approachability makes this so easy to listen to.
It was hard to "put down"
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend who has an interest in Buddhism, Mindfulness, or Pema Chodron
Pema brings her laughter, her genuine compassion and her gentle clarity. Her voice is soothing and uplifting while offering a depth of learning.
Pema's teachings are consistently relevant to daily life and this was an accessible listen.
yes, i've already recommended it to many people. i can't think of any person who wouldn't find something valuable to take from this book. it changed that way i see the world and my contribution to it.
it made me laugh many times and it touched my heart more times than i can count.
This was a wonderful education on life as (maybe)it should be. Pema has such a natural way with herself and a confidence in explaining the ways of the teachings that is quite uncanny she is precise unwavered and totally confident in the lessons it was as though she was the author.
It was to me a wonderful coverage of life,
Pema is a character all of her own she gets to grips with every thing the words provide.
Yes and I will listen to it many more times than anything else I have heard to date
Bring on Pema she is a gem.
Learning to Be
I have listened to and read everything I can get my hands on by Pema Chodron. She is by far one of my favorite teachers. Great sense of humor, approachable style and a wise teacher. I appreciate her honesty about her own struggles ~ and the reality of this path. This is one I have returned to over and over again and still gain something new. I love hearing her laugh and feel as though I am with a friend when I hear her voice. Thank you Pema and thank you Audible for making this available.
Awful. over 100 rated this and only 4 reviews? Clearly the publisher put up fake ratings to prop this up. First of all this is only a lecture. However what kept me from continuing to listen after only a few hours was how little she really said. She seemed able to expound on forever about such a well understood concept. And little of what she said was eye opening in any way
This is my only review after having been an Audible subscriber for over 5 years. Also, I've read and listened to many books concerning Eastern religions. This was by far the worst Audible experience I've had.
