"Official Book Club Selection"
I really enjoyed listening to this book. I found it very humorous and initially thought it would all be jokes. Her sincerity was unsurpassed and the fact that she discussed her career track was amusing and serious.
"Best Audio Book This Year"
This is the best audio book that I have listened to so far this year. I have been a fan of Kathy Griffin for a long time and this book is Kathy at her best and perhaps most vulnerable. I was afraid that it would just be 6 plus hours of her digging dirt on celebrities. I was pleasantly surprised to hear her deal openly and honestly with issues of her divorce as well as her troubled older brother. I even learned the official name for Tom's neurosis. I highly recommend this book for any and all Kathy fans.
"Too bad it's abridged"
Love Kathy Griffin and thought her book was good. The book did indeed start off slow, but overall it was an enjoyable listen. I wish I could have enjoyed the entire book rather than just the abridged version.
And so glad it was narrated by KG. It was more like she was talking to you rather than reading her book to you.
"Was not disappointed!"
I really loved this audio book. (And I'm generally pretty stingy with giving out five star ratings.) I tend to be reluctant to select abridged audio books, but in this case it was definitely worth it. I can't imagine that the experience of reading the book could come close to hearing Kathy Griffin present it. The best part is that she never sounds like she's reading; the cadence and expression are more like a performance of one of her live shows. Highly recommended!
"Funny, Funny, Funny"
This book starts off a little slow. The subject of Kathy's dysfunctional family is not all that amusing, but it sets up the rest of the stories. Be patient. The rest of the book is worth waiting for. This is one of those audio books that just couldn't possibly work as well in print as it does on audio. Kathy Griffin is one of the best storytellers around. This is a great listen!
