I enjoyed this book, but liked Eat to Live better. This was a good second book to that. Eat to Live gave a lot of research which I found interesting and informative. This book was good to make the program doable and for the recipes (bought the actually book too).
Yes, this is well founded and it can change your life.... that is if you are willing to make drastic changes to your thinking and your American way of eating. For me, this is already the direction I was headed and I have made many changes in my way of eating. This was the natural next step I was looking for. I have recommended it to 3 others who are now making the suggested changes and are experiencing various health benefits/weight loss from it.
Stories of those who have been cured of serious disease by changing the way they eat.
You are what you eat.
Great eye-opener on health now! The value of phytonutrients is explained and the value of eating to heal ourselves is offered. This is a medical doctor responding to the pharmaceutical companies' influence on our society's health dilemmea. This is about healting through eating and being aware of the effect of what we consume. Well done! Excellent resource!!!
Dr. Fuhrman really impressed me with his first book, Eat For Life. This book feels like a cop-out from his original message and an apparent attempt to capture more mainstream readers and those who aren't serious about their health and well-being but may be part-time good food eaters. The biggest disappointment, however, was not the content of the material, but the audio version inself. I am a New Yorker, born and raised, but I had a difficult time understanding Dr. Fuhrman's fast paced diction and found that he cut words off and didn't make the listening as effective as what it could have been. The information is good for someone who is just starting to change to a better diet, however I strongly suggest that this material be purchased in book form rather than audio for the sake of sanity and understanding.
Was not what I was expecting. Told me all the things we know already like eat lots of fruits and vegigies and less meat. No ideas on what to eat. I guess I have to read the next book to figure that out. Dealt more with the mental aspect of why you overeat.
This book is only offered for Audio books and it's great. I love it and I am rarely disapointed in any audio book I down load, however, I do think that Kindle readers need to be aware that the price in the buy icon is misleading and is dependent on being a member. I am not likely to order to many books in the future form the Kindle store.
Need I say more? The book just drones on and on. I didn't make it very far before I gave up. Not worth it.
