This book is a great listen for someone who isn't quite sure what is healthy to eat and what is not. This book makes a sound case for low calorie, low-fat and low-carb based diet. The author clearly states there will be repetition of some content explaining that the goal is for the reader (listener) to understand and internalize the concepts of a healthy diet. This way your not just trying a fad diet, but rather making a lifestyle change.

The reader has very little personality and it seems to repeat the same information over and over. It's like listening to a textbook.
It has good nutritional information if you can weed it out of all of the scientific terminology. He is smart but does not know how to make his findings interesting.
He was not monotone but there was little excitement, reminded me of a professor who didn't really want to be there.
I would take away the whole beginning of the book, we don't need all the scientific background info, I just need to know what foods are nutrient dense!

Dr. Fuhrman is the narrator and does an excellent job. He sounds strong in his convictions.
I enjoyed this book, but liked Eat to Live better. This was a good second book to that. Eat to Live gave a lot of research which I found interesting and informative. This book was good to make the program doable and for the recipes (bought the actually book too).

Yes, this is well founded and it can change your life.... that is if you are willing to make drastic changes to your thinking and your American way of eating. For me, this is already the direction I was headed and I have made many changes in my way of eating. This was the natural next step I was looking for. I have recommended it to 3 others who are now making the suggested changes and are experiencing various health benefits/weight loss from it.
