I am a 40 year old physical therapist. I can remember when I was 12 I thought Stephen King was the only author in the world and I read any of his books...... Now my love for reading has grown...I love to listen and now... To about anything.....
Definitely yes. I am a big fan of S.B., but this book just was not a favorite of mine..
I just did not feel much for any of the characters.... Maybe the characters needed to be built up more.... Even the romance was just well... There.
No I just really would not be that interested
It was very interesting from the beginning to end.
The fact that her husband forced her to have a child with a prisoner.
I finished it in one night
I would recommend this book because it has it all. Love, passion, betrayal, action and drama!
I could barely put it down! It kept me intrigued.
I have never listened to this author before.
I enjoyed this book as I always do enjoy most Sandra Brown's books. There's always some romance wrapped up in a good story filled with suspense. And that's what really keeps me coming back to her books. I don't just want to read a romance story. I like suspense and thrillers and when there's a good romance involved, oh well you've got me. I just want to read all of her books...and I will.
Four stars due to Mr. Slezak's performance. He did the best that he could with weak material. Of course this is fiction. The premises of this story is so silly and unbelievable. It is very difficult to like any of the main characters or feel sorry for them. They are protrayed as selfish rich people who will do anything to get what they want. It is difficult to believe that a former professional athlete would be so financially destitute, conceited, and lazy that he would perform stud services for a couple of millionaires. He does this not only for the money, but actually believes that the couple wants his genetic features in their child! Give me a break. In addition, it is incredulous that a self respecting, competent, highly intelligent business woman would be motivated by guilt to have sexual intercourse with a strange man, with her husband's permission, in order to make a baby. What man who truly loves his wife would ask her to do this for him? Adding to the ridiculous plot is mental illness, a dirty cop and the mob. There is no doubt that some listeners were disturbed by the sex scenes. References to "the act" are minimal and not graphic. Actually, this entire story is disturbing and insulting. Save your money and your credits.
I have a very fast paced life. Audio books are an awesome alternative for me. Long road trips, working out and housework arn't a bore.
One thing I have learned is that the reviews are unreliable. Those that call this book predictable certainly must have a very developed imagination. I had no idea where this story was going to end up.
I couldn't stop listening.
I am also glad to see Ms. Brown has written so many books. I have a lot of reading in front of me.
I love her writing style. Bravo Ms Brown, bravo!
I will never look at the Dallas Cowboys and Texas the same way again! This was a very good story. In the Brown fashion, a societal malfunction is overcome with a conscientious choice to make good. I highly recommend this book!
As always Sandra Brown pulls you into an amazing story, but this time, you wonder "How does she come up with this stuff?" This is a great story and the only reason I did not give it five stars is b/c I was a little disappointed in the ending. Only because I was hoping we could have saw a little more into the future of our characters. But this was a great storyline that you just don't see coming. Another great exciting story from Ms. Brown!
Sandra Brown writes quite well. This one was the best of her works that I have read. Characters were well defined, plot followed as it should, narartion was excellent and the twists were great.
