Jester was a twisting and turning tale that kept my interest the whole way even though it took 12 CD's to finish it. Fun history with blood and guts and a romantic high ground, I was guessing until almost the end. The reader also did a nice job in switching between characters - excellent!
I was surprised to be drawn in by this different sort of write for Patterson, but the story had enough twists and turns to keep my attention and enjoyment. I felt there was, however, a bit too much graphic drawn out gory battle scenes for my taste. I enjoyed the narrator very much, seemed perfect for the story.
The story spanned many years and was very intriguing, the leaps in time were believable, and unnecessary time was not wasted getting from one place to the other. James Patterson proves once again the depths of his talents. My attention was held and I looked forward to the drive to and from work to be able to continue my adventure. Keep em coming Mr. Patterson.
I must admit that there was a little more sex and bad language than nescessary but all in all I truly enjoyed this book. The story gets much more interesting after the first couple of hours, and the characters are quite memroable. This is my first Patterson book and I give it a thumbs up!
I almost missed listening to this book because of some of the negative comments. What a regret that would have been. My wife downloaded it for a trip she had to make. When she returned she told me I had to listen. Glad I did! This is an excellant listen. It kept my interest peeked to the end, albeit a somewhat predictable end. I loved the narrative. I spent every lunch hour in my car listening to this book for a week. It has it's share of bawdry and warn against it, if you have a distaste for it. Over all a great story.
A well told, well narrated, "historical" mystery. The tale of man of various guises successfully navigating a difficult life path from disaster to happiness with many surprised. I liked it very much.
