Strong story line and educational for Greek mythology.
Great when the kids showed up in places we have visited as a family!
I like the realness of the characters.
Travel the world in 3 hours or less.
Loved the entire series. Now moving on to Egyptian series while waiting for book 6!
I love to walk and run listening to audiobooks
yes. We have three boys and all love the Percy Jackson series.
I appreciate the desire to make different voices, but the voice for Tyson in particular is annoying - makes him sound dumb. And also, all Asian voices use broken English. As a 4th generation Chinese American, I found this to be profoundly insulting.
Love listening to audio books at work or on the road.
I would not only because I am more found of my rendition but Jesse did a great job.
Sci-fi/fantasy junkie, storyteller, devourer of books, workaholic
Percy is still Percy, but this book just didn't seem as much fun as the previous ones. The plot meandered a lot more, and the new characters weren't that interesting. There are tons of action scenes in all the Percy Jackson books, but in this one, they seemed a bit much, like they were being used for filler. I actually find the antagonist, Luke, and Annabeth, who remains a sidekick character despite nominally being allowed to "lead", a lot more interesting than Percy himself, who seems a bit too perfect now that he's settled into his hero role (the snarkiness is getting a bit tired at this point, and with the plot darkening, seems very incongruent with everything going on around him and makes sound like a jerk at times). Still, interesting enough for me to want to find out how the series ends.
And Jesse Bernstein's narration is as good as ever.
Listen to it with my grandson we love all of the Percy Jackson books
love the good wins
enjoyed his voice and energy
Yes to Rick Riordan. Stuck with Bernstein if I want to finish listening to the series.
Cliche. Offensive. Uninspired.
Good story, terrible delivery. I've listened to the first four Percy Jackson series and the first one was so dry, with all characters read in the same voice - I found myself wishing Bernstein would vary the character voices. Now that he has I prefer the original dry delivery. His performances of the Asian characters is especially offensive! Why on earth would an Asian character automatically have some idiotic caricature of an accent?
This series is not as good as the best ones, such as Harry Potter, but it is very enjoyable. And the narrator is excellent.
The series is funny, I usually laugh.
Mom with Twins
Jesse's voice captured my 7 year olds' attention immediately! He loved listening to this book so much that he's decided he wants to listen to the entire series. :-) He's hooked and a fan for life. I'd read the books already and knew what great stories they are. Great imagination and wonderful meshing of Olympians, Romans and the modern world. Really great story telling by Riordan!
I liked that Jesse sounds like a young man for this series. It allows you to become more involved in the story.
exciting, surprising, unexpected
The Percy Jackson books, and the Artimis Fowl book are similar in the fact that they are both mystery books aimed at pre-teens. Both are great books that more students should read and great examples of written literacy.
He needs to work on differencing between the characters. Develop more voices. His reading is smooth - just not attention grabbing.
Not particularly, due to the reader, but the story line is good.
Hi me o me
Only one problem wit this series they seem to be too short kind of expensive for such short books
