I was amazed on how much of this still goes on. I thought this was something that happened many years ago.
This book opens your eyes to a hell that even the darkest places of your mind could never imagine. How this woman made it, I will never know. The strength that she possesses to deal with all of the obstacles put in front of her is something that only God could have given her strength to do! I hope Betty didn't stay!!
I thought the whole story was fascinatingly sad and heroic at the same time. To think of how all those wives (and children) were used, abused and had endured over and over again the unrighteous dominion the men had over all of them is truly unfathomable to me. And yet, Carolyn found a way to escape it all. An Amazingly strong woman she must be!
This book really open my eyes I had no idea that this was going on in the world I feel so sorry for all the women that have to live in that world and how they are brought up to think that that is what they have to do they are so brainwashed and it was a very intriguing book
This book is amazing! I found myself not being able to pause it for any reason. The strength of Carolyn Jessop is extraordinary. I would recommend this book to anyone!
I loved this book; parts are incredibly hard to hear. The emotional abuse these people endure is disgusting, but what a strong woman she is unlike many of the others there. The manipulation and backlash among wives is unbelievable. Knowing she accomplished something and her life is better was what kept me going. I am so proud of her actions. I will be reading hey next book. What an eye opener.
