This book really open my eyes I had no idea that this was going on in the world I feel so sorry for all the women that have to live in that world and how they are brought up to think that that is what they have to do they are so brainwashed and it was a very intriguing book
This book is amazing! I found myself not being able to pause it for any reason. The strength of Carolyn Jessop is extraordinary. I would recommend this book to anyone!
I loved this book; parts are incredibly hard to hear. The emotional abuse these people endure is disgusting, but what a strong woman she is unlike many of the others there. The manipulation and backlash among wives is unbelievable. Knowing she accomplished something and her life is better was what kept me going. I am so proud of her actions. I will be reading hey next book. What an eye opener.
The beginning is difficult to follow in parts. Some storylines are difficult to follow but when discussing such large polygamous families it by definition is difficult to follow.
Overall a very compelling and amazing story.
enlightening, sad, and inspiring.
Just from recent experience, I guess I can only compare it to "I am Malala" because it tells the story of woman with astounding courage through her own words.
She spoke for the Author flawlessly. For the most part I forgot that it wasn't the Author speaking.
A Woman finds Miraculous Courage to Break Free of a Cult.
Its amazing that this woman was born with a level of intelligence, courage and Self-Respect that enabled her to break free from this cult that she was born into along with her children.
My eyes have been opened to the horror and terror suffered by Carolyn and her lovely kids....I cried right along with her as i listened to her story!! Carolyn you are so inspirational, strong and independent...I wish I could hug you right now!! Now I want to read more about the FLDS cult!!!!

Could not stop listening to this book the entire time. Carolyn's story is courageous, heartfelt, enlightening, and most of all, shocking! I'd recommend this book to anyone. What an inspiration Jessop is, she is a true hero.
