I suppose there should be some uneven moments when you have one reader taking on such a lengthy project, but there were numerous times when the reading was near rote. McLean's reading is often stilted. The entire Epistle to the Romans was one long sing-song session, distracting greatly from what is, arguably, Paul's greatest dissertation. Still, it is worthwhile for the most part and it is wonderful to have so many sections so that it is easier to find a specific book. I've simply downloaded another version of Romans.
Psalms and Revelation.
Yes, but I was only looking for a reading, not a performance
The Greatest Story Ever Told. Wait, they've done that!
Narration is very good. However, format is very poor! As other reviews have stated,
books are out of order. Hard to find certain books and chapters.
I really enjoy listening to Max and love this version of the Bible. Max seems to revel in the reading of the scriptures which makes this audio Bible come alive and magnify its truth.
I love it. I only wish there were book titles and chapter numbers in order to go where you want to go in the Bible listening.
the review was entered here in error...this is a review of the audible book of the complete literary works of C.S. Lewis. My Apologies RLW

CS Lewis: The Word Enlightner
Max McLean's reading is impeccable. The sad part is this comes in 37 "parts" that are not identified in any manner as to what books are within any given part. I am pretty sure part one has Genesis, however it's fully unclear what books are in the remaining parts. When I read the Bible, I really often want to go to a specific chapter of a particular book. There is no way I can distinguish to navigate from one book or chapter to another.
Max McLean's reading is impeccable
the narrator helps in my case
this inspired me to pay for the CD version that will apparently have the navigation I need. Too bad I have to buy it twice
I wish I would have purchased the CD version first.
The narrator has captured my God''s speech as I have always imagined. Incredible. I'm locked in, no sound effects needed with this man's vocal performance. I almost can't stop listening. The app is very user friendly. WOW
I love this audio reading of the entire Bible. This is a fun and practical way for busy Christians to have a daily devotion. For non Christians, this is a great way to listen to the Bible at your own pace.
Not recommended for one reason: for a Bible, it's really difficult to get the maximum use out of a product that isn't divided by books and chapters. Although you can stop and pick up where you left off, as with any book, needing to find a specific chapter and verse is VERY common when going through the Bible. This was a big disappointment.
LOVE Max McLean's voice work.
