"Second book in the series, was hooked into story."
Yes, I would recommend this book to a friend. As part two of the three book series it was a must to listen to as I was yearning to find out what happened to the characters I had come to know and like so much.
Evolution in the characters and the twist in the story at the end of the audiobook.
As good as in the first audiobook in the series, easy to listen to and clear.
I wish I had the time to listen to one audiobook in one sitting. If I had had the time I would have definitely listened to this audiobook in one sitting.
Great second book in the series and easy to listen to.
I haven't read the print version, but I imagine it would be better, simply because the narrator just didn't have the right kind of voice to play Katnis is my opinion. She sounded much too old and worldly and lacked the innocence that you imagine teenage Katnis would have.
I think Haymitch really comes in to his own in this book and I really enjoyed the way his character is becoming more likeable as the story progresses.
I found the narrator very difficult to get along with at first, but once I got into the second book this started to bother me less, though there were still occassions where I found the dialogue difficult, because it isn't always clear who she's voicing and the emotion is often lacking.
Absolutely! I cried so much during this story, it's a hugely emotional tale, from the start of the trilogy right through to the end.
Most people say that it is a bad book because the readers voice is full but I don't think there is anything wrong with it.
"A really good listen - again and again."
I have really enjoyed this recording of Catching Fire - my favourite of the Hunger Games Trilogy. It's narrated well.
"Perfect sequel to a great story"
The hunger games series is very well written and gripping throughout. The narrator is not as bad as people say, I think she voices Katniss perfectly. I've never actually physically read the book as I enjoy the audiobooks so much
"The captial strkes back."
Somewhere in the middle. The quality of the first book was a big challenge to live up to and this book had work within the constraints of the plot landscape. It does a good job creating new angles on the plot to create an interesting story.
The development of the alliances.
Just when you thought she had got away with it.
the second volume wasn't as nice and story smooth as the first one, at least for me. But it was enjoyable nether the less.
"Excellent 2nd book!"
Great narrator, great trilogy! Already looking forward to the 3rd and final book! Highly recommended.
Not as good as first book, but still a great listen. Narration is done well.
"one of my favourite books"
complex woven story - thought provoking ideas - rich multilayered characters. especially love the heroine so strong and fragile at the same time. really relished the reading of the story and the pace.
