I love to read. So, Audible has given me a chance to "read" when I normally couldn't. I really enjoy it.
Good for all ages. Good story.
Yes. In the series. The series was really good
Yes, but I couldn't
By being audio you experience the feelings in the words, and the book comes alive in a different way.
Catnus as she comes to understand the meaning of trust and faith.
The scene when Snow visits her in new home to threaten her.
No, but it did want me to start with the third book strat away.
The quality of the Hunger Games continues in this second book of the trilogy.
Good narration. It was very clear which character was "speaking" as she was reading.
i admit, at first it is a bit disturbing to get used to the concept of "hunger games" and what that entails but it's all very well done and exciting--you never know for sure what's going to happen. the narrator does a great job and you really get lost into this whole "hunger games" experience. i highly recommend this series. it's one of the best i've happened on in a while.
No, it is a lot of whining and emotions. Just stop after the Hunger Games and make your own ending.
The second hunger games was pretty entertaining. The least interesting is Katniss's constant rants and ridiculous "emotional" queries. Anytime Katniss is by herself is just plain boring.
very old lady
The reader's voice sounds like a significantly older woman, not that a 17 year old would be better, but there has to be a happy medium.
I enjoyed it but not much as The Hunger Games. It felt a little drawn out and didn't have originality of first book. The Hunger Games I loved and had difficulty putting down but not so much with this book. I did still enjoy it and would recommend the series to others. It felt much more like what it is, a young adult novel, with big chunks of the book given over to the main character "mooning" just like a regular self obsessed teen! Carolyn McCormick was not suited to this book and that bothered me throughout the whole listening of all 3 books. She is a good reader and would listen to other works she did provided I felt it was a good match.
I would probably not listen to this book again simply because the narrator was only average. I did like the story, though. It was very captivating to listen to.
Not sure what she could have done to improve. I just didn't like the quality of her voice or the way she "played" each character. I have heard far better...namely, Davida Porter.
I was assured that once the wedding dresses are delivered, the book gets much more chaotic and it was true. However, it was overly dramatic and the heroine definetly suffers from the reluctant hero syndrome (whining)
This series gets better and better with each book. And the performer, Carolyn McCormick, really masters these characters voices making it easy for me to know who was speaking.
