I listen til about a book a month, sometimes more, sometimes less... great for commuting
I wasn't sure what to expect, but I loved the way the author played with the words and my feelings..
A true story of grit and determination.

Hemingway is truly one of the all-time masters of the written word. With Donald Sutherland as the narrator of the story it really comes to life.
The narrator really makes the story come alive, and the story itself is a Hemingway staple. The story is one of perseverence in the face of extraordinary challenges.
This story is exactly what the tittle infers
Just more interesting . Plus it has some moments whether or not he will survive
I want to cry. I cannot believe the sharks ate his fish. So sad.
yes. I did.
Of the three I have listened to, this is by far the best.
The Old Man obviously. His struggle was real and affecting.
When the first shark was spotted. I felt a pit in my stomach is it was obvious where the tale was next heading.
Don't see this. Read the book.
Simplicity seems to be the chief goal of this short story and it pulls it off in spades. The underdog premise is so genuine that we, the audience, cannot help but route for our protagonist as he struggles both mentally and physically to prove himself useful once again. It's a tried and true character arc that is both mesmerizing and ultimately heart-wrenching.
I am just now catching up on the classics. What can I say about this that has already been said? Great read.
The brevity - a powerful message in a short time.
I like Donal Sutherland the actor, but he has a low, deep, quiet voice and sometimes it was hard to heard his narration even with the volume turned up loud.
When the sharks started eating the marlin. Heart just sank.
Fabulous characters in a great story - it really felt as though you were there with the old man in the boat at sea.
The old man - he had such an acceptance of what life had given to him and remained positive despite that.
I haven't listened to Donald Sutherland book reading before, but would certainly choose another book with him as narrator. Found him very easy to listen to.
i don't think its for today generation, its too slow and the outcome is clear.
i don't think i will listen to Ernest, i heard a lot about this book but its not for this time anymore, there are much better writers today. with further more exciting stories.
don't get me wrong he is a grate writer, but i my opinion not for today.
the performance was very boring and slow, i appreciate the effort but this is not for me.
