This series grabbed me from the beginning, which sort of surprised me. This installment (Dreamfever) really held my interest to the end. The narrators were excellent - this was a great audiobook, and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!
I fell in love with the Highlander series, so I looked for anything else Karen had written. I found the Fever series. The first book was so different from what I was used to (from her), I had a hard time getting into it. Being a fan, I faithfully read (& listened to) all the Fever books anyway... the more I heard, the more I got into it. I'm VERY excited now that she is tying the Fever series back into the Highlander series in Dreamfever... and I like the male narration in this book as well. The climactic 'cliff-hanger' manner in which she ends all the Fever books, keeps the story in your brain long after you've read the the last page of the book... anxiously awaiting the next annual (sniff, sniff) installment. On the bright side, I'll get to start over with Darkfever and enjoy them all again next year prior to the release of Shadowfever!!
This book is the latest fantastic addition to an incredible series. KMM tells us more about the characters we love and love to hate and those we aren't sure about! The narration is likewise terrific with Phil G and Natalie R. Thanks for the great listen!
Granted I had to get used to Natalies way of doing things but I believe she did a good job. Once you get into it the cadance picks up. I"m enjoying it now. Phil is ofcourse wonderful.
I have become a huge fan of this terrific series. I can't get enough of Mac and Barrons. Sigh. I love these narrators.
If Phil Gigante would read the phonebook to me, I'd melt. Okay, I want Phil Gigante to be my boyfriend.
This book takes the series up a gear or two. Mac has grown past the shallow young woman she was and is becoming the incredible woman that is her birthright. Lots of action and surpises in this more adult novel with a darker feel. I also enjoyed this a lot more with the new narration. It has more depth and range and the accents were better. I feel with men puported to be as powerful and dominating the use of a male voice added depth to the listening experience and made the verbal exchanges more enjoyable.
Note it has a huge cliffhanger. So if you have not already started it wait until the final book comes out on 18 Jan 2011 so you don't live in "fever hell" with the rest of us humans.
This book had the best narration of all the books. Natalie Ross is a great narrator. Joyce bean sounds to old to be Mac. Next book releasing in January, can't wait.
While I will get over my disappointment that Joyce Bean isn't the voice of this book in the series, the audio quality is simply awful.
I've listened to each book in succession (on the same equipment) with little break between books, and the sound quality on this recording is not even close to that of books 1-3.
How disappointing overall, and especially given this is an AUDIO book site.
This is a fabulous series and I can't wait till the last book comes out. This one is a bit different then the last ones as they also had Phil Gigante narrate it for the male parts. This is definately a series worth listening to.
