I read my first James Patterson book in print not too long ago and looked up the next one in the cross installment and purchase it on audio. I was very disappointed in the storyline. I felt like the sexualisation was juvenile and unnecessary to telling the story I thought the eerie music throughout the reading of the book with missed placed an unnecessary as well
This was my first and last James Patterson book. The story and plot was predictable. It reminded me of a lame, made for TV movie. The narration was okay but the "mood" music at pivotal passages was annoying and distracted to the read. The "mood" music used at the romantic passages sounded like a adult movie. Very bad taste.
I am a retired psychologist with lots of time on my hands, thus I listen to a lot of books.
Double Cross was interesting and had a well developed study line. I can't really say that it was intense although parts were. It had a satisfying ending. I felt like it was worth the read.
I bought this book as an experiment - I wanted to see if I liked J. Patterson's writing. Turns out I'm not a huge fan, and the narration just spoiled whatever good stuff was left. Awful.. sorry... would NOT recommend. I suspect actually reading the book would be MUCH better.
Want a good narrator? try Dick Hill, or Steven Weber.
The story was slow and flat
I love Patterson.
This is the first time I couldn't finish a Patterson Book. Darnit!
