It was difficult to hear her pronounce the "s" in the word "she".
Either the recording quality is a copy of a copy of the settings for transferring the data to this format was not correct.
When she spoke in multiple character voices the quality was so much better.
This second book in the Harper Hall trilogy is a satisfying continuation of Menolly's story. A fun one to listen to.
I very love all of the story's there the best of the best song and story's in the world for every every every every every every every every.
I love Anne McCaffrey with all my heart, but Menoly's character is just so hard for me to like. she apologizes too much. I just don't see her as a main character. I'm fine that the next book in series is supposed to be based on another character. Narrator did great!
I love to listen to classics as well as hard Scifi while knitting or working out or just sitting. Always a good time.
Definitely, this is a fantastic series of books. Must start with the first one to get acquainted with the story and characters. Once you've read this trilogy heading into the Dragonriders of Pern trilogy and the next set is even better! You get to see the characters completed.
Usually, the second book of a trilogy is the worst (or at least the most unspectacular), but I think the Dragonsinger is the best of the three Harper Hall Books. It's at heart a school story, with a heroine, Menolly, who begins as an outsider and struggles through the book to find her place in her new home. Sally Darling is an acceptable, if not exemplary narrator. I don't really buy her voice as that of a teenage girl, but it isn't off-putting enough to ruin the experience.
I love all Anne McCaffrey's books and this one does not disappoint in the story line. I was, however, disappointed in the narration. It is hard to tell the difference between the characters and the reader just plods along. I found it hard to listen to. There are so many better narrators out there.
