Mr Smith and Ms Lecat are wonderful yet again. You will not be disappointed. By this time in a lengthy series, there is one book that may not stand up to to others in quality. But not this one, and not any of the previous ones. This series is a bargain at twice the price. I only wish I had found it sooner.
I love the #1 Ladies Detective Agency series. Lizette LeCarr does a good job. This story had a dramatic event with an outcome I didn't quite expect. Thoroughly enjoyed!
It is as imagined when I read the book. The personalities come through clear as a bell.
When they discover Violet is playing dirty pool.
It gave me some wonderful laughs. It goes to show that we are all the same, yet all different.
Another delightful installment in the series. I've enjoyed them all. These books are always very benign entertainment as long as you don't expect deep, life-changing stuff. Sit back, relax and meander through another world.
I love the way the author makes you feel like you are there in the story being a part of the no. 1 ladies detective agency and their personal lives. Learning their thoughts, world views, values and concerns is informative and entertaining.
yes. The characters and their environment became real people by the end of the story. This is one of those books that doesn't depend totally on the outcome of the plot to be enjoyable. It's like re-reading a letter from a friend.
The Cater St Hangman. Even tho the two are nothing alike in content, they both are done with a G rating and have characters that become real by the end of the book I can listen to both over again with anticipation of the unfolding narrative because of the background details and the personalities and interactions of the people concerned.
yes. same enjoyment level.
I am always thankful when i find a book with an enjoyable story, real characters. Especially one that is done without profanity, violence, and overdone sex.
I loved the narrative. This is the second book of the series that I have listened to, and it's a delight to listen to this reader.
If I had the time, this would be a pleasure to listen to in one sitting.
The characters came alive through the narrator's performance. The rich description of human behaviors and the characters' responses to the behaviors held my attention.
My favorite character was the secretary/assistant detective.
I found the book entertaining and refreshing.
