I am quickly becoming a fan of Scott Brick's narrations. Not only is this a great story with well-paced action and superb characters - but Brick's "acting" gives everything more depth and power than could ever be delivered by the printed page. Get it, you won't be sorry!
This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed it very much and I look forward to another of his books. What can I say about Scott Brick....Just the BEST!!!! I would listen to anything that he reads.
Although it has a slow start in which the world appears to be against the main character, hang in there for plot twists and turns the are interwoven and difficult to anticipate. There are many characters, so attention is required, but that wasn't a problem with this narrator. The narration was excellent with a voice that drew the listener into the story. I admit to being a Harlan Coban fan and this one did not dissapoint!!
I hoped that this would be a good story right up to nearly the end, and then it collapsed into too many unbelievable connections. Scott Brick was excellent as always. I probably won't read this author again.
Compelling stories and people
Harlen Coben's usually fine plotting and character development is vastly obscured by the over ripe reading of the narrator. Mr. Brick manages to turn Coben's wry humor into sarcastism and anger making the sympathy for the lead characters difficult to access. This may be an good book but it is spoiled by this excessively dramatic interpretation.
