I have always liked Nora Roberts' books. I think of them as a moment away from real life and a chance to just float along. But every now and then, she writes a series that is really powerful. (The Pagan Stone) Here is another series that should not be missed! Each book can stand alone, but it is the way the four books allow you to get to know the characters that makes this series a treat. I would love "Vows", their wedding production company to expand into a "Party Planning Production" as the members continue their life stories. I love that they are not afraid to change their lives for one another, in this world where it is "too much all about me and what I want". These fictional young women and men have figured out that it is all worth so much more when you have your family to share it with. And that what you give up to be with your friends and family in the end, really doesn't matter.
I love witty, fast-paced books that keep you turning the page.
I have to agree with the others who didn't like this narrator. She does has a slight lisp, and it was very difficult to know which character was speaking since they all sounded so similar. Setting that aside, the book was a great listen that will have you smiling nearly the whole time. Thank GOODNESS they switched to another narrator for the rest of the series!
I love this book. Strong women who have their weakness' and show the work that it takes to find love. You wanna be there for Mac and you wanna kill her mother. You want to kiss Carter, get married at the house and look at your memories of that day from the beautiful pictures Mac took. You want to be there with them and experience it all with them.
The entire Bride Quartet series was wonderful. However, this book was difficult to listen to. The narrator was terrible. I listened to the series out of order hearing book 2 first, then 3, then 4 before I was able to get this the 1st book and the narrator ruined it for me and I found myself fast forwarding through some parts just to finish the book. It was not the story that bothered me actually it was as good as the others but watch out for the dramatic change from this book to the others. I highly suggest using the same narrator for the entire series.
I anticipated a fun love story that I would probably share with my teenage daughter. Nope. The storyline was okay, but there were three scenes in the book that I would call pornographic. It's not a book I would recommend to anyone, especially my daughter, and I wish I hadn't read or listened to it myself. This is the first book I have deleted from my library.
I like this narrator. I've just moved on to the second book, which has a different narrator and I am having a hard time adjusting.
well written and well narrated both the story and the characters were believable. I would love more stories surrounding these characters.
I really enjoyed this book, the story was great and I loved the narrator. I never heard the lisp that other reviewers are talking about and enjoyed her characterizations.
Like a lot of other reviewers, I found the narrator's slight lisp distracting. Also, her voice is much higher/younger sounding than most narrators I've listened to, including many NR series. The characters are supposed to be in their early 30s, so it was a bit annoying to me.
I drive a lot and enjoy repeating some of my favorites in the car, so I thought I'd give the audio a shot. I'll finish this one b/c I love the story, but if it's the same narrator for the rest, I may not buy them.
As for the books, I LOVED them. I own all 4 in trade paperback and enjoyed all of them.
