I've always enjoyed this author's books. However, this one was a bit too predictable and I don't think the narrator was the best choice for this book.
I always enjoyed the sharp wit of Phillips' books. Unfortunately this has a decidedly mean streak to the writing. It is hard to warm up to the characters as a result. The narrator's sing-song reading is difficult to listen to for long periods. While no one can replace Anna Fields, there are many narrators that could have made this a better listening experience.
I liked the story but it is not as good as Natural Born Charmer or Match Me If You Can. The ending seemed rushed to me. Georgie and Bram were at odds for a lot of the time and then "poof" they realized they were in love. It just didn't unfold in a believable sequence for me. The narrator was not bad but no one can hold a candle to Kate Flemming/Anna Fields...I really miss her. I'm a BIG fan of Susan Elizabeth Phillips so I can't rate this lower than 4 stars.
Althought Julia Gibson's reading is good it was not Anna Fields, next to Davina Porter she has to be one of my favorite readers, she will be sadly missed
I can't put this book on my list of favorite SEP books. At times Georgie and Bram just got on my nerves with all their bickering, the book lingered too long and the ending was predicable. I definitely will not download Glitter Baby
I am a huge SEP fan and looked forward to this book from the time I knew it was forthcoming and it definately does not disappoint. Great character development and a few twists and turns along the way so you hope you know the outcome but there are some surprises. Nice to revisit some old SEP characters too - April Robillard Patriot & Jack Patriot!! I love all SEP books and dare I say...this might be my favorite....
