Incredible book great twists and overall plot I didn't see the end coming which I always a good thing. The only complaint I have is the narrator, he had a tendency to make some parts of the book childish like Doria, fier, and solon; he made them kind of seem like childish buffoons, and it seemed like they should've been taken more seriously. But truth is that I'm not the author and so I'm not %100 sure what weeks wanted them to be like incredible story five stars goes to this author for not making a second book that drags.
Becoming a fan of Kylar but don't like how there's no back story to some of the other characters. At the end of the book I didn't even realize that Elian was captured. I feel like she needs a little more back story if she's going to be Kylra's wife in the future instead she only gets a few chapters that doesn't really do her much good. Overall it's a good read, but I wouldn't read it again.
I am addicted to listening! I have great memories of my dad reading wonderful books to us as we grew up. So, if I'm driving, I'm listening!
I listened to book one, and just kept on going with book two. So now, I'm not hesitating to move right on to book three! A really fun and absorbing story.
Quite majestically told, with many scenes leaving me dumbfounded in states of utter awe. Near the end I noticed a wetness on my cheek... and realized I had a shed a single tear... a tear of humble compassion that eternally changed my heart and soul for eternity.

I absolutely love how vivid the writing of Brent Weeks is. I swear at one point I had an adrenaline rush because of how amazing a battle was. This book is a rollercoaster, it takes you through tragic and tough events, to glorious battles and victories that give the top fantasy books a run for their money. Simply amazing, definitely recommend, looking forward to reading the next book.
