I own a small shop selling custom/costume Jewelry. I love to listen to audio books while I create jewelry. I love all animals and get very upset when they aren't treated well, even in fiction.
Conclusion should have included the dog.
Not to this again...
She kept me listening
The woman's murder club. The odd friendships.
What happened to the dog????
Love the story line.Very believable, the reader was fabulous.
She has a great story telling voice that holds your thoughts together.
yes but I savored it into 2 nights
The only thing that I disliked was all the chapters were distracting
This is the 1st book of the Womens Murder Club and I like it. Mostly because it was a good detective story and because I wish this is how women treated each other. I want a murder club. The romance part was weak though, the narrator was good.
A gadabout with no room for heavy books, so love the audio ones.
I liked the TV show, then saw this book on sale. I will not be buying any more. I do not care for the way he writes women, I really did not care for the narrator, (I did check that this was an older book so maybe she has found her niche) but she was definitely not for this book. She is more of a dramatic, old radio program actor. Read the other bad reviews that I should have listened to.
Classic Patterson! I loved the San Francisco setting it was so easy to visualize where the action is taking place. This is the tale of 4 women combining their talents to bring the bad guy to justice. It shows the cooperation, friendship and bonds that can exhist between women. I enjoyed the listen!

A typical James Patterson book exciting from cover to cover
I had heard excellent things about this book series and James Patterson is an acclaimed writer but I was very dissappointed with the first book in the series. I think the flaws in the book were accentuated by the audio performance which was overly dramatic in a bad way. Even with these reservations I went on to get the next several books in the series. They are narrated by different performers and are much more enjoyable. If you want to start this series don't get the unabridged version of the first book. Choose the abridged version, you'll be much happier with the performance. The same narrator also does the unabridged version of the second book in the series. I'm now listening to the unabridged third book and I like this narrator best. Bottom line, no I wouldn't recommend this version of the book to a friend.
The story has a made for TV feel to it. I saw many of the plot twists coming. However, the series improves both in writing and narration. So if you somewhat like the first book, keep listening. The series improves.
The narrator was horrible, very histronic. It almost ruined the book for me.
Well, since I like to listen to every book in a series, I decided to get the second book and thankfully the series improved. I'm now listening to the third book and about to purchase the fourth in the Woman's Murder Club series.
This was a good detective story with interesting characters and the right amount of twists. There is a romantic angle, but it is kept to a minimum. There are a few brief periods where it gets a little over dramatic and the narrator feeds off of it - not in a way that I found favorable. There is the occasional line that she delivers like it is the keynote of a summer blockbuster commercial. Overall an enjoyable listen.
