Yes. Fascinating review of the cultures in America before Columbus. We are still being taught out if date information. This book tells a story while reviewing new information showing how advanced these cultures were in 1491.
Yes. I will be reading 1493.
It's not what you learned in school
This is the sort of book where I'm astounded an abridgement exists; I would not have purchased it had I realized it wasn't the full book.

By jumping from place to place the book never felt boring or like a textbook.
No, but it did make me think.

I can't believe I didn't even buy this on sale. I have listened to several duds, but most of them fall into the $4.95 offerings. this hurt.

Need to keep learning, as most of the stuff I learned in school, wel,l it was wrong!
Life's too short to read bad books.
I was looking for more about the North American Indian tribes, not just the Meso-American "civilizations".
Excellent research and well documented makes a pleasure listening to this book. Having a kindle or written text helps as not to get lost in the names not familiar to most of us.
