i really loved this book. I became interested in reading this after i saw the move. I started and couldn't stop reading it. i read it so many times tjat i lost count. i would recommend this book to anyone
This story is well written, and honest. Although it is a very emotional read, it is one that I think every person should read. It really is a powerful story.
Yes, for sure.
It reminds me of Shattering Glass, which I read back in the day, similar setting, similar themes, similar main characters.
You really feel Melinda's pain in a way that you wouldn't if you were just reading the book on its own.
I had to put it down a few times, this is some heavy shit. The performance adds to that weightyness.
Read this book. Please.
I can't quite put my finger on why I enjoyed this book so much. It's a coming-of-age story, and I'm not coming upon any age except elder, but Melinda's slightly skewed, newly sardonic voice kept me interested. I cheered her at the end, just like a kid.
In life, not all tales of this kind end well, and not all triumphs are dramatic, but the story also speaks strongly of the healing that comes with realization, and time.
Definitely an intense read but it is the story of a lifetime. Nothing I have read before compares to this story. At first you know nothing then when you are finished you are left with everything in your head. This is an amazing read.
