How did I miss this little gem? I've had this in my wish list for a while, but didn't notice that Susan Ericksen was the narrator. As usual, her performance is spot on! I was a little disappointed with the conclusion of the book, but only because I wished it had gone on a little more. All the elements were great, the dialogue and scenes were imaginative and described to perfection, however, many of the story lines that are spun don't get wrapped up in most of Nora's novels, High Noon being no exception. However, Nora always makes me laugh, sometimes cry and I would definitely recommend listening to this book!
Audible addicted love mystery, lately stuck on love story. Mother of 1 Labrador and 1 perfect man. Work way too hard, and so ready to be retired
Loved it. passed it up at first, but was a big mistake love strong women LT's and Susan is still my favorite narrator for auible books and still my fav. Her meeting a blue eye millionaire. Hate the bad guy but all stories have one, phoebe reminds me of Eve in the Jb Robb series love it worth every credit.
This is the same narrator that does the Eve Dallas "In Death" series, whom I like alot. The character of High Noon is tough and soft at the same time. Really interesting and a fun read -- love the Savanna setting.
I'm a 31 year old momma to two amazing young men, wife to the greatest guy on earth, a multiple sclerosis survivor and school bus driver!
For me, when I purchase a book, I look for great ratings on the narator. Even a great book can be terrible if it's not read well. I did really enjoy the narator in this book, and a great story line pulled it all together to make this one of my favorites.
This book had a really good mix of romance, mystery, and action. The only problem I had, and it wasn't that big, was that most of the characters seemed a bit too perfect. The plot kept me interested through the whole thing. The narrator did a very good job of differentiating the different voices. The little girl one annoyed me a bit, but that wasn't that important.
Highly enjoyable book, I could not press the "stop" button until the book was done.
Believable characters, graphic murders, sweet romance...
Typical fireplace reading material!
I read as often as I am able and listen as often as I please! If you like southern women raise your glass! If not, raise your standards!
Great action, romance and suspense. The story line was good, fast paced. The narrator is a bit distracting for me as the characters are sometimes indistinguishable. Her voice also takes me to the J.D. Robb characters and accents and throws me off.
Nora Roberts is always a good time!
Retired former magazine editor who is working harder than ever as Mr. Dad to his 12-year-old daughter.
This is the first book I've listened to by Nora Roberts and my guess is that she appeals mostly to female readers. Seems like every time the action was building to a crescendo, Duncan and Phoebe had to take a 20-minute break to play kissey-face. Duncan's character was largely unrealistic but I guess you're allowed to have it this way with fiction. I liked Phoebe, although her character seemed to run the gamut from extremely strong to rather weak. The narration was poor as I often had a hard time distinguishing who was speaking based on the narrator's inflection. She has limited range. I gave this book three stars because the non-romantic action scenes were pretty riveting. Call me a "guy."
