Believer in what you can't see
That all the relationship were a little different than what I expected, but I'm glad the story try to include all types of relationships. .
None of my books compare to this audiobook, it is a little realistic tale, but unexpected turn of events that involved not only .a professional side on Lord John's life but personal also.
The narrators voice brings the time period to life and does a great job with the voices. Surprise ending.
Mind your own business
Yes, if you have been reading the entire Outlander series.
the most interesting was the "who done it" part of the story line.
I really enjoyed all of the Outlander series so far. I haven't enjoyed these additional short stories that are part of the series. It seemed to me that there wasn't enough action.
I'm an artist. I have arthritis. I listen to books on tape to forget my aches and pains. Better than drugs! listening also helps me sleep
Not a swashbuckling hero..the type I favor. Too bad as Diana Gabaldon is one of my favorite authors.
Adequate entertainment but not one of those books that you hate to turn off. I am a fan of Gabaldon's detailed narratives that bring the characters to life. And if you love the characters she creates--there's nothing better. Unfortunately, although I liked Lord John in the Outlander series--I am not a fan of the snarky character the emerges in this series. SO, loved the writing, not a huge fan of the characters or the storyline.
I really enjoyed the Outlander series and Lord John was just so charming so I was looking forward to hearing his own stories. He is just as entertaining here. Most people who didn't recommend this book didn't like it because of the homosexual sex in the book, but it was very tasteful and there was not alot. I don't think it was any reason to not like the book. It's a very intriguing mystery.
Another great by a great author. I'm only subtracting a star because I don't think it would be near as much fun to hear this story without the others in the Highlander or Lord John series. WELL writen. All of her character feel like you are tring them on for size!
Love DG, but this seems hastily written and uninspired. Very corny. I enjoy John Grey in the Outlander series, where he seems more authentic.
yes. The different regionals were a plus in the audio edition. It develops the personalities
This was the first performance of J.Woodman that I had listened to.
I liked the fact that this character is more fully deveolped and explored. His thoughts and story where an intriguing sideline in other books, but here he becomes more fully developed and a more interesting character.
I like the fact that it uses the characters of previous characters and let's the reader see the into the workings and life of a character of another novel.
The reader helps bring this the story to life and gives it a depth that it would not otherwise have. Also allows the listener to relax and enjoy the story.
Would have liked to listen all in one sitting but life doesn't allow that at this time.
There are better books. It was ok to listen to as I painted the walls.
I could have used the time better.
