There were enough "turns in the road" on this story to keep things interesting as it went along. A little crime, a little romance, and a few dead ends...before the whole story came together.
Great story and better narration. For me, the reading can make a bad story tolerable and a good story great entertainment. This one makes you sure that Harry is real and actually working in LA. So entertaining that it made me want to right this review - and I'm not even done listening to it!
Good story, excellent characterization, intriguing plot, great reading and great book. I like Harry Bosch. Highly recommended+++!
I have listened to over 250 books in the last 10 years. I tend to listen to certain authors and try to read all their books. I listen while exercising and driving which makes the time past enjoyable.
If you like Michael Connelly, he is at his best. Good plot, well read and a great character in Harry Bosch.
This series could go on as long as James Bond movies....one solid story after another. Patterson's eye for detail, along with the continued development of real-life, flawed characters, together with an interesting mix of story twists all leads to a I-don't-want-this-book-to-end experience.
... there is some very annoying acting when it comes to the actor reading the disabled cop's dialogue. I found those parts extremely grating.
Am going 50/50 on the MC novels. Really like Lincoln Lawyer and some of the later "non-Harry B" books. Tried to get into series by starting at begining, but the 1st two seemed dated... All about Vietnam and too predicable by 1/2. But I liked them enough to give the series another shot. Jumped up to Lost Light as it had decent reviews. Story was good if a long time coming. Was really hating Harry not being a cop as was he. Narrator was great. Am already bored by HB's not being able to work a computer. Old, tired play and it's turning up in next book too. Drop it, my Grandmother can go online and check the weather now-a-days. If you like the series, you don't need my input, it you're on the edge, it's OK and if you're new to MC, start w/ the Lincoln Lawyer and Chasing the Dime.
