As an active / outdoor guy, I love listening to audiobooks while trail running, hiking, etc.
Guidall Is Awesome
Not necessarily - lots of detail that has to be explained. But that's why I'm listening to an unabridged book and not watching the movie version
No favorite scene
Yes - unfortunately, there are radical Islamics in the real world
Not as good as Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, but very good nonetheless and in the same genre
Silent Man filled the silence with a pat story; very formulaic. A few overly sadistic scenes. Nuclear terror and flat Arab figures vs. the silent hero.
Might be a good book if I could get it play. I have heard it is an excellent book but Audible downloads are such a hasle I would buy it on ebay.
This book came highly recomended.
Don't know can't play the file.
Going to buy it on ebay or Banes and Noble
Rehash! An example of how to tell a boring story in 10 chapters rather than on or two
It seems when I get to the 3rd or 4th book of an author, the quality starts to diminish. A more cookie cutter approach seems to be the norm. This is a good example. It seemed like a formula book. I still don't know why he called the book "The Silent Man". And to make the book a notch worse, the narrator Guidall is at the helm. I just can not get into his voice and how he reads a book. A very narrow range of voices and consistently can not do a female voice well. Many people seem to like him and I still can't figure that out. A better narrator might have bumped this book to a 4 star. For me, it is time to move off this author unless he starts writing books in a different genre or changes narrator.
