5 star in every way. Guessing until the end. Will also check out other books read by Paul Shelley, very easy listening
"I could not stop listening!"
I really could not stop listening to this book and found myself sat in the carpark running late for a meeting as I was so enthralled!
It has everything, believable characters, engrossing plot, detailed and life-like descriptions of scenery and surrounds, and fabulous narration - ear candy if there ever was such a thing!
I find myself at a loss now its come to an end - in mourning at the loss if a dear friend, I shall miss you Edwin Strafford sorely as much as if I'd known you....
A good plot and unusual story with likeable characters and enough pace to keep you listening. The narrator was excellent, a fine tone & good enunciation.
"Beguiling Intrigue at every turn"
It is an entrancing novel that holds the readers attention and leaves a lasting impression. When the memory has faded a re-read is more than a possibility.
This is classic Robert Goddard and that is a high recommendation.
There were many memorable scenes and the plotting of the novel linked them beautifully
The best of people and the worst of people unmasked.
Take the time to read this book. You will not be disappointed.
"Kept me reading"
Twist and turning plot line, took a bit too long to get to the denouement, plot with girl interest a bit too far fetched. I kept listening to the end though and satisfactorily finished up. Not sure I would read another of his. Guy reading the story was good, I think it was his voice more than anything that kept me listening, brought the characters to life.
"Past Caring by Robert Goddard"
Excellent in every way. Slightly slow building up the story, but once established held attention with many surprising developments. Politics, intrigue, deceit, betrayal and love lasting a lifetime woven together in the search for truth. Many twists along the way. Narration perfect for the story. Seemed to go quickly and was disappointed when it ended.
Wonderfully gripping story, well-rounded characters and immaculately read by Paul Shelley. Perfection! I would recommend anyone to read this.
"A book to be read"
The plot in this mystery is good and the story is fast moving but the reading dulls the experience. The reader seems to have one voice with a slight odd accent which goes for all the characters, I do with they would pay for multiple readers to read the different roles.
What an interesting book. I could not stop listening the whole day.
I thought my hubby was going to drown my I-pod!
