I totally agree with the reviewer who said she was surprised at the high rating! If you want to know the *truths* behind Dyer's books, read Deepak Chopra - that's where he got everything anyway. And Chopra isn't such a stuck on himself namedropper. I spent money to hear how spiritual Wayne Dyer is and all the celebrities he's friends with... No more!
"Don't take prescription drugs he says." Then later "So I was at the store picking up a prescription for my son...". UG. On the good side he has some interesting stories about life which were thought provoking. Here and there I was able to pick up something that was interesting. But most of the book seemed like the author was someone that was unable to grasp that he even existed. He sounds amazed that he is even alive. "Just spread love and joy and everything is ok". Thats the type of book this is. "how would I solve the problems of the middle east? Well I would encircle the place with as many people as possible sending out loving thoughts to everyone. Now how could anyone be mad with such overflowing love?". Ok if you think that is a logical solution to a 3000 year old religious conflit then this is the book for you.
Wayne Dyer is my new best friend. Not only is his written word inspiring, but I love listening to him. He has such passion for what he speaks of. This book is truly inspirational.
When an author tells itself in his book that if you do not believe what is written in the book, than it is due to your ego... Well this is a sentence that sounds everything but scientific!
According to me this is more manipulation than information!
"If you are truly connected to your source, then the power of intention is infinite and whatever you will want this will happen". This sentence contains itself its own limitation and this is impossible to prove! Just take the contra-positive of this sentence: "If you do not get what you want this means that you were not truly connected to your source." And Wayne is going further by saying that the problem is then due to the ego.
1° False: ego is not something that we should fight. Ego is the power of every human being.
2° Dangerous: what has to think all the people having a deadly disease? That they deserve it? This is stupid. And what about a child being smashed in public? Do you think this child wanted this? Do you think all the people seeing the scene wanted this? And what about all these forces joined together that didn't prevent this? It is dangerous to think that you can change the weather just by wanting it! This is just not serious!
I really do not understand how such a guy has been teacher in an university... or was it truly an university?
"Feeling good" = "feeling god"! Damned! I think that Wayne is confusing preaching with teaching! By the way how do you explain this in other languages? This is stupid.
Now beside all these "mambo jambo" thoughts the overall message of Wayne is a message of peace and love. And this is great. He is such charismatic with such a voice… Great!
But do not take all he says for reality! This is a nice fairy tale for adult. Who do not wish to think that the intention comprise all the needed power to get everything you need and want? But this is not true! To be awaken is not to be taken as to be naive! Personal development needs to be attentive and to be proven, not to believe!
Do not take me wrong: this production is great! It is a great… fairy tale!
Complete load of rubbish. Smart psychological tool for self-promotion, praying on people who cannot accept their own pain and suffering. If you really want to manifest something in this world, there will be tough times, and times you don't feel 'aligned', but you will need to push past this to manifest what you desire.
In terms of this book, I wish I could manifest my money back.
the buddhist hot dog vendor who would make you one with everything, then you absolutely must hear this book.
Liked the idea that we a idea in the mind of God- Used by L Ron Hubbard Understood I am time less and formless. The book is summed up in first stanza of Jap Ji Sahib (Sikh scripture). The author could not transcend the idea of formless and limitless. There were references to Carlos Castaneda. I could not see a clear progression of idea of "Socerer"Wayne made a good soup of ideas.
I learnt a very important lesson after purchasing this audio book. Always listen to the audio sample first. Good basic philosophy, delusional god therum!!!
