I only gave a 4 star, because of the narration. Of course it was awesome that the book was read by the author, however it was very hard to concentrate. Apart from that, it was briillant.
Power VS Force is mostly about Kinesiology ( Muscle testing ), and it contains human consciousness and energy levels, power patterns and etc.
For me, I was fascinated by his work and this book kind of educated me to see the world differently. From now on I am going to watch my emotions, actions, thoughts and decisions - as I will have to be responsible for every one of them eventually - and I will try not to drop my energy level to below 200. ( level 200 is Courage, according to the book.)
I will also try to see the world, things, events, circumstances and people with the hightest possible consciousness level.
This audiobook taught me to read the reviews before I buy. The narration is difficult, but I kept an open mind and focused on the material instead of the voice. I made it to the three hour point and could go no further. I considered the book because it was referenced in Wayne Dyer's lecture on the "Power of Intention". It makes me doubt Dr. Dyer's choices of reference material.
To use an old expression, it's a bunch of "hogwash".
Carl G. Jung stated that "modern man needs a modern language to express religion and or spirituality." Dr. David R. Hawkins books, ( I have read all of them and would like to have them available on Audible )have come the closest to facilitating an understanding of Jung's statement.
i heard this was a great book but geez i can't get past the reading of it. authors should be banned from reading their own material if this is what it is going to sound like. it is quite awful. if you want to read this book PLEASE i beg you to get the hard copy. believe it or not it will make your life a lot easier.
Okay... the author should not have done the audio for his own book. His reading is awful BUT this book is amazing! If audio is your only option for this book then bare with him and get it. I bought the hard copy too so I could read over chapters that were hard to listen to. This book is a MUST! Practice patience with the reader.
Yes. I like his lectures, but I found this book incredibly dry and unlistenable.
I couldn't make it to the end
I suspect this may have been Dr. Hawkins first attempt at narrating? It sounded like a first grade reader being forced to read in front of his class. Halting and stiff.
This book is mysticism portrayed as science. It is garbage.
Anger that I had wasted the time listening to this garbage.
If someone is considering listening to this book, I highly recommend anything else.
David is a good author, but a lousey narrator. Unless its pitch black and there are no visual distractions, David is very, very hard to listen to! Having bought his audio cassett many years ago, if I had looked and seen he was the narrator, I would have never bought the book!
David provides many fine details about his core subject
The same guy that Bryce Courtney uses. David has the same monotone, no infliction and toneality differences in his voice and a poor narrator
It does have a follow up book, An Eye for an Eye, I havent read it as yet
David, if you want ot sell more audio books, get someone else to Narrate!
This book begins by talking about how you can find the ultimate truth through a very special 'scientific' method: You have someone hold his arms up and try to push down on his arm. If you say something positive to him while you do this, he is stronger. If you say something negative, he is weaker. Now you can test out other things in the same way. From this the author extrapolates that the secrets of the universe are unfolded, all of us connected by a hidden consciousness, mystics, gurus, blah blah blah. Of course, all the scientific 'studies' he provides are vague and non-descript.
This pseudoscience is reminiscent of the Scientologists who give an electromagnetic stress test and tell you all kinds of deep truths about your psyche. When someone tries to bring such deep and all-encompassing 'truths' through unverified simple biological tests, you know you should be skeptical.
Someone else reading it. It is boring - I kept listening but it is a waste of time.
The lady who does the intro.
So hard to follow - so tired of buying these books that are no good but have good ratings!! Sigh....
