Good story. Easy to listen too. Entertaining narrator. Kept my solid interest through out most of the book.
Yes, the world she built and some concepts of the species she recreated are interesting, I just feel like she didn't develope any of the completely well. I am considering the next novel in the series in hopes that she will.
It was a bit slow but perhaps it was the directors vision for the n.western us area where the book is set. If the book was taking place in the south us I would also expect the narration to be a bit slower.
Nothing at all really. The attitude and dialogue of the book that should have been gruesome, sad, or traumatic were flat and glazed over. Even the after effects on the main characters during the last chapter were flaccid about the situation. No reflection.
Gonna ask for my credit back
Love sci fi, faieries and the like. Werewolves beat vampires always
Mercy being played
Mercy nobody stands in her way
Mercy she is on everyone's sidee
Wolves meets coyote
No. Nothing is ever better than having a book in my hand.
When the pack is together in the end. The book captivates you and I couldn't help but to feel the chills and tingles myself.
I love Patricia Briggs and reading supernatural books! She is my favorite author. This book is amazing and the series just continues to get better!
Yes, if you like the genre of witches/werewolves/vampires etc, and you like a strong female protagonist, this is a good choice.
Right at the beginning when Mercy reveals her nature...
One of the reasons I tried the series was because Lorelei King was the narrator. I really like the way she manages to give voice to each character in such a way as to bring their personality to life.
i wouldnt know that to be exect as i dont physically read books anymore only listen to them
i would compare them to the jane yellow rock or another couple of series of books i have i love any books with vampires and warewolfs
of the whole series it would be mercy merried to the local alpha warewolf
this is a great audio book series i can not wait till a new book is out
The first time I listened to Moon Called, I was captivated to continue the series. The characters are relatable, well developed, and are written consistently with their actions and words. The second time I listed to Mood Called after listening to the next four, I fell more deeply in love and caught things I missed the first time around as know I knew where it was going. I paid more attention so the second listen was priceless to me.
I love all the characters; each one is a part of the whole and deciding which one is favorite is ridiculous - of course, as a reader, the one I most relate to is Mercy. Her independent nature with the life long burning desire to belong is at odds with her internal being - for a while anyway. There are several moments where she realizes having both is quite possible. Quite like normal life - she never comes to bare on the fact that she is special - she is herself and that is good enough.
Lorelei King is a vocal genius where you never have to guess who is speaking. It's remarkable really. Ms. Kings ability to send shivers down my spine when Adam is angry shows her true mastery in her performance. In fact I started this series because she was the reader.
If you are deeply involved and have gotten inside the book as another world of existence, you laugh, you cry, you get very, very nervous, you feel elation and even triumph. It's an awesome ride.
Say something about yourself!
To start, I love Ms King. She is great. Has feeling and enjoys what she reads.
As for the story. Good mystery, has an array of supernatural beings. Including a new one at lest for me. As the series progresses I'm sure we will get some romance which will make this even better.
Suggest buying ASAP even if you don't have credits!!! Great read!!
By using a different narrator! I was so disappointed when I downloaded this audible book. I love Patricia Brigg's Mercedes Thompson series, but for me, the narrator's voice just didn't fit the character. To me, she sounds like a white woman in her mid to late forties from the east coast, not a thirty year old mechanic, who tends to mouth off to werewolves. Even worse was her "voices" for the male characters in the book. I just can't listen to anymore of this audible book and unfortunately, she's the narrator for all the books in the Mercy Thompson series.
I wish I could have sat and listened to this book all at once. The continued mastery and interesting plot kept me coming back for more.
This book was a great start to a series. I had already purchased the two books in the series before I was half way through this book.
