I am a professional photographer, a motorcyclist, and an avid reader and listener. I enjoy history, business books and
I have been familiar with the law of attraction, which The Secret deals with, for many years and have read several books dealing with it. But, and it is a big but, applying the law to your life is hard. The law is simple, you are your thoughts, and what you think about you are. think thoughts of abundance and abundance will come to you. The hard part is applying the law, you read a book, try to put the ideas into practice and it works for a few days or a week or two and then your back to your old ways. Negative thoughts trickle back into your mind and your back to where you started.
With this audio production of The Secret, (which I have listened to it a total of four times in the past three weeks) I find that when I get into a negative mood, or need a little boost, I put it on. I like the way it takes the listener through various areas of your life where one would need help. Money, relationships, health and wellness. It is concise, with not a lot of fluff, and it has a variety of different people who narrate it, making it a lively listen. Other reviewers have said that the music that they use make it dated but I find the music to be timeless and very appropriate to the subject.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve there life, to get out of a rut of negative thinking. In fact, I thought I had been a fairly positive person before I listened to this book but found that a lot of my thoughts were dragging me down. The Secret has made me think about my thinking, and some of it was stinkin thinking.
It is easier to carry it on my trips
When they give you an example of how you can use it and you realize you have use it some times too
The Secret works.
As it is not a story - as in novel - but a practical guide to living a better life, I thought it was pretty awesome and inspiring.
The contributors were pretty interchangeable and I got something from every one of them.
That nothing is impossible.
I need to listen again and again and again ...
there was no tangible information. the only take away is to stay positive.
i would have been better off with a more substantial book like, the 7 habits of highly effective people.
Say something about yourself!
This book is more useful than the movie, and good to help people start to realize there is power of creation behind their thoughts.
That said, the simplistic approach and presentation (picture yourself in a new car, and then you will be!) is poor. Right idea, but they made mistakes in the way they are trying to educate people, Repeating I am rich 1000 times will not make you rich. Its a bit more complicated, but I still think its at least in the ballpark, so if you are trying to learn about the power of your own ability to manifest and havent read it...go for it. Just use your own brain and common sense before racking up your credit cards and waiting for a winning lottery ticket.
I read the book before purchasing the audio copy. I really like being able to review parts of the book while driving or working out. It allows me to integrate it into daily life without having to re-read sections.
This is total garbage, poorly rehashed old story. How anybody with IQ only slightly higher than froqs and snails could listen to this longer than 10 minutes is beyond me.
Yes,yes, and yes. I have known this secret, but recently lost my way. I have friends in the same situation.
The stories of theories that worked in real life.
Get back to a positive attitude.
I learn better from hearing than seeing so this was great. It was easy to find a few minutes to listen in traffic or while putting my kids to bed.
We are always creating. Words are powerful.
The cheesy sound effects and music.
