this is a great follow-up to the great story in book one. would highly recommend to continue the series if you read book one
the story would have us believe it is about heroes, but the protagonists are immature and simplistic personalities in a story that, while somewhat entertaining, is ultimately shallow and formulaic. the narrator is above average, if a bit melodramatic at times.
Story for older audience with new stuff all the time.
Like books he reads
Had a hard time to stop listening.
I liked this book, I was concerned as the first book accomplished so much and changed the world for these characters that this book could only fall flat. I still have a slight preference for the previous book, and this series isn't quite as good as Stormlight Archive, but this was well worth the listen.
Still many twists in the story, and new interesting world building, and even greater uses of the magic systems established in this universe. Of course if you've listened to the first book or Stormlight Archive you're familiar with the amazing narrator as well, and Michael Kramer does wonderfully here as usual.
Huge Sanderson fan - he a master of worldbuilding and Fantasy - am also a big Michael Kramer fan, but unlike book one, the ending really felt forced to me. It was hard to give a title in this series anything less than full marks, but I felt I needed to stick with my gut on this.
Already into Hero of Ages hoping for a stronger conclusion to an excellent trilogy.
