This book is superbly read and fun to listen, but the plot is unbelievable. The last part, which takes place in a London court, is especially entertaining and hard to believe.
Great listen! I looked forward to "drive time" so I could stay stay connected to the twists and turns of this clever story line. Enjoy!
I can't express just how much I loved it. Held my attention the whole time, very creative twists. Clever all the way through. Totally worth it!
This was a great listen - mainly due to the absolutely wonderful narraration. I wish Roger Allam had more titles on Audible.
I also loved the characters. Overall I enjoyed this book and it kept my attention. I found it exciting and suspenseful, especially at first, but towards the end it seemed a little contrived.
I would recommend it as a fun listen, but it is by no means a literary masterpiece. At times I felt the author was a bit arrogant - underestimating the reader's intelligence with repetitive descriptions and melodramatic plot twists.
Narrator was excellent - I liked the plots and twists, though a couple might have been just a little over the top. It kept my interest, it has lots of humor and I will listen to it again later on. For some unknown reason, I kept having the feeling of deja vu. I feel like I've read this before or heard it or saw a movie much like it. I wonder if anyone else felt this? It was a very good listen.
A fine listen. I listen to Audiobooks while on my walks, I walked an extra few miles while listening to 'A Prisoner of Birth' and lost an extra two pounds.
This is definitely worth listening to. The reader is engrossing and Archer is at his best in this one. I didn't want it to end.
