This is truly one of the best audiobooks I have listened to. The narrator's accent is fantastic and you quickly find you are tied to the characters. I couldn't get out of the car because I wanted to keep listening. Truly LOVED this story. I have to say it was probably better listened to than actually reading alone. It was fabulously performed and truly a joy. I'm sorry it is over.
Except for some schmaltz near the end, this is an excellent read, full of suspense and drama -- where everything doesn't go like you expect it to go. Plenty of twists to keep you interested.
No disappointment, here. A great "read". Nicely told by the reader, particularly the use of various accents. Easily followed, a few twists and turns. I was trying to "figure out" how it would resolve itself. Didn't expect this, though. Highly recommended.
Hard to get into at first. I even dreaded listening to it a little. But then it started moving and held my intrest for the remainder. I really enjoyed the book. I would recommend it.
This book is superbly read and fun to listen, but the plot is unbelievable. The last part, which takes place in a London court, is especially entertaining and hard to believe.
Great listen! I looked forward to "drive time" so I could stay stay connected to the twists and turns of this clever story line. Enjoy!
I can't express just how much I loved it. Held my attention the whole time, very creative twists. Clever all the way through. Totally worth it!
This was a great listen - mainly due to the absolutely wonderful narraration. I wish Roger Allam had more titles on Audible.
I also loved the characters. Overall I enjoyed this book and it kept my attention. I found it exciting and suspenseful, especially at first, but towards the end it seemed a little contrived.
I would recommend it as a fun listen, but it is by no means a literary masterpiece. At times I felt the author was a bit arrogant - underestimating the reader's intelligence with repetitive descriptions and melodramatic plot twists.
Narrator was excellent - I liked the plots and twists, though a couple might have been just a little over the top. It kept my interest, it has lots of humor and I will listen to it again later on. For some unknown reason, I kept having the feeling of deja vu. I feel like I've read this before or heard it or saw a movie much like it. I wonder if anyone else felt this? It was a very good listen.
