I would say that stories 1 & 3 were good, 4 was average, and 2 was horrible enough for me to regret this purchase.
The Astronaut from Wyoming is horrible. Long, dragged out, preachy, everything good sci-fi short stories shouldn't be. Listen to the last 15 minutes if you must listen to it at all. Try to ignore the reader's (purposeful?) mispronoucation of NASA as "Nassau".
On the other hand, "Slow Life" and the dinosaur stories were good, and the 9/11 one wasn't bad.
Geek before it was cool.
I was disappointed in this purchase. The Astronaut from Wyoming was very tedious. It was the type of story that sets up an unrealistic society composed almost entirely of one-dimensional morons and then says "Look how unfair things are!" when in fact the unfairness was a product of the simplistic society the author created.
The 9/11 story was trivial and devoid of insight. Without spoiling it, let me just say that the author apparently doesn't understand the concept of religious fanaticism and the cultural differences that lead to terrorism. If terrorists saw things the way we do from our cultural perspective, they wouldn't do the things they do. Some will say that that's what this story was about, but I think it completely missed the target.
The other two tales, however, were very good.
